As some of us contemplate what to do with the garish garments we've been given for Christmas, Sir Elton John seems thrilled with this quirky new addition to his wardrobe.

'Perfect for tea on Boxing Day,' the 70-year-old pop star declared online, next to a picture of him draped in a £3,650 Gucci wool cape decorated with the label's growling tiger motif.

He posted the snap in Aspen, Colorado, where he was on holiday with his husband, David Furnish, and their two sons, Elijah, four, and Zachary, who turned seven on Christmas Day.

The couple seem to hope Zachary will take after his father, judging by the musical-themed cake they gave him — in the shape of a blue electric guitar.

Here's a conundrum for those lucky enough to enjoy some winter sun: where do you put your hotel key at the beach?

Model Lottie Moss devised a characteristically playful solution as she strolled along the Miami shoreline. 

The 19-year-old model tucked the plastic key into her bikini bottoms so she could keep her hands free for selfies.

Lottie ensured that the tattoo on her right hip — reading 'Not Yours' — remained unobscured. 

She had it inked after splitting from Made In Chelsea's Alex Mytton last summer.

One question remains: what do you do with the the spare key, Lottie?

Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders won bouquets from the critics for their 30th anniversary special, 300 Years Of French & Saunders, but received a brickbat from Ruby Wax, with whom they starred in Eighties sitcom Girls On Top.

'The genius of Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders is beyond question,' Wax remarked online. 

'I never liked them as people but no one on earth can do comedy like that.'

Surely Ruby's joking?
