They may be one of the world's most famous couples.

But when it comes to Christmas, Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky are just like any other Aussie family.

Spanish stunner Elsa, 41, posted some sweet snaps of the couple's Christmas, which was spent with their children and extended family.

In one, the Thor star could be seen opening Christmas presents alongside the couple's little ones, daughter India Rose, 5, and twin sons, Sasha and Tristan, three, at their Byron Bay home.

The tiny tots appeared to be gifted with several learning toys, among other presents.

Dressed in summery attire, Elsa was looked tanned and toned in a floral dress by her favourite label, Spell & The Gypsy Collective.

Meanwhile, Chris showed off his bulging biceps in a singlet top.

The family are enjoying some much-needed time off over the break.

On Friday, the brood were spotted soaking up the sun on a family outing to a beach in the New South Wales coastal town they call home.

Chris is just one of a huge number of Australian celebrities to be spending the Christmas period at home, with Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts all bringing their families Down Under to celebrate.
