'She's lovely and very down to earth': Margot Robbie delights starstruck fan after posing for a photo while shopping for end of year sales at Harvey Norman on the Gold Coast

She's the Hollywood heavyweight who recently returned home in Queensland for the holidays.

And despite her A-list status, Margot Robbie, 27, proved she's still as down to earth as ever while shopping at a local Harvey Norman on the Gold Coast last week.

The makeup-free actress humbly posed for a fan photo with fellow shopper, Tom Meschede, who described the star as approachable and 'very down to earth.'

The MTV award winner cut a relaxed figure in a plaid cotton shirt and ripped white jeans.

She appeared fresh-faced with her lucious locks styled in a loose side braid.

It comes after Gold Coast Uber driver Robert Bregnsdal recently claimed to have been invited to a house party by the star and her director husband Tom Ackerley.

He is believed to have picked up the famous couple in his BMW 320d as paid passengers.

Robert recently told The Gold Coast Bulletin he was kicking himself, after realising he had turned down the offer from the famous Suicide Squad actress.

He later confirmed it was Margot using 'Sophia' as her Uber-ordering alias, telling the publication how the encounter went down.

Claiming she and her beau were chatty during the drive from Carrara to Mermaid Beach, he assumed they weren't famous due to their down-to-earth natures.

'After (the drive) she invited me to come to the house party I said no 'cause I was going to see Star Wars with the boys,' he admitted with a laugh in hindsight.

'And her husband kind of chuckled like 'Ha ha, you don't realise who we are'' the Uber driver added.
