Kim Kardashian has revealed her son Saint is 'all better' after he was rushed to hospital with pneumonia last week.

The reality star praised her 'resilient' boy as she gave an update on Saint's condition on social media on Tuesday, and revealing that he was hooked up to an oxygen machine during the 'scary' incident.

'My precious baby boy is so strong! After spending three nights in the hospital & seeing my baby get multiple IV’s and hooked up to oxygen machines, our end of year was challenging.' the 37-year-old TV star explained on Instagram.

'Pneumonia is so scary. I just want to thanks every nurse & doctor out there who works so hard around the clock. We are so grateful for you all! He’s home and all better. He’s so resilient I’m sure he will still say the ambulance ride was cool! My strong Saint'.

Along with the update Kim posted a sweet black and white photo of her looking super glamorous while carrying the two-year-old tot.

It was reported earlier on Tuesday that Kim and husband Kanye West, 40, had rushed their son to hospital, after he contracted a 'bad case of pneumonia'.

According to TMZ, the worried parents took him to a Los Angeles-area hospital last week, where he received treatment for the condition.

The website reports that Kim and Kanye took turns in staying by his bedside, sharing overnight duties until he was released from the hospital on Saturday.

PNEUMONIA IN KIDS

Pneumonia is a lung infection, which is life-threatening for children and elderly people.

But while children have a higher risk of pneumonia, their symptoms tend to be more subtle.

Adults tend to have a cough and fever.

Children, meanwhile, may experience a headache, fatigue, and a low-grade fever.

If it progresses, they may experience a sore throat, a blocked nose, diarrhea, loss of appetite, and lack of energy.

Severe pneumonia is typified by wheezing, sweating or chills and blue lips.

The risk is higher for kids who have asthma or haven't received all their vaccinations, but all children are susceptible since their immune systems are underdeveloped.

TREATMENT

A doctor's course of action depends on the type of pneumonia - whether it was contracted from a virus or bacteria. The doctor will perform a test to determine which one it is.

If it is bacterial pneumonia, it can be treated with antibiotics, sometimes delivered intravenously.

In the case of viral pneumonia, it requires Tamiflu, bed rest, and drinking lots of water.

Other types of pneumonia include fungal pneumonia, which is treated with antifungal medication, and aspiration pneumonia, when stomach contents are inhaled into the lungs. This may require a surgical procedure.

The reported hospitalization is said to have occurred after Kim attended Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez's Taco Wednesday party.

Saint's doting parents appeared to ring in the New Year in a more relaxed style, with Kim taking to Instagram to share snaps of the couple on Sunday night.

Self-confessed selfie addict Kim completed the countdown to midnight with a kiss in front of the camera, as they celebrated at a club among glamorous friends.

Kim looked like an ice princess with her sharp, bleached bob, which matched her off-the-shoulder dress.

Clearly smitten, Kanye shot a rare smile for the camera as pals including Larsa Pippen gathered to count down and wish each other a 'Happy New Year'.

Just last week, Kim declared that she was going to use her phone less, saying: 'My New Year's resolution is to be on my phone less and be more in the moment.'

She went on to say: 'My 2018 fitness goal is I plan to train really hard and be more consistent, five to six days a week weight training with Melissa.'

And 2018 will be the year that their family of four becomes five when they welcome a third child via surrogate.

Expectant parents Kim and Kanye couldn't have looked more smitten with one another, ahead of an exciting period ahead.

During their family Christmas, Kim shared one of their last family pictures featuring just the four of them.
