Ryan Reynolds may be best known today as a leading man, father, husband and superhero, but back in the 1990s he was pure teen heartthrob.

The 41-year-old Deadpool star delighted his fans on Tuesday when he posted a throwback image to Instagram showing him in his younger days, sporting a haircut typical among 90s teenyboppers.

But it wasn't just his blonde, curtains-style hairdo that got fans worked up - they were also blown away by his incredible resemblance to a number of other 90s icons, including Mark-Paul Gosselaar.

The blonde actor famously played Zack Morris on the popular TV show Saved By the Bell, and for much of the show's run sported a long-on-top haircut.

In Ryan's throwback photo, he is seen wearing a striped polo shirt and sitting on some steps. Fans muse that the picture looks to have been taken around the same time as when he filmed his role in the 1996 Sabrina the Teenage Witch movie.

The caption for the post reads: 'Happy New Year, everybody! The point is, I used to style my hair with a blowtorch.'

'Is that you, Zack Morris?' wrote one fan, while others quipped: 'I didn’t know you were in Backstreet Boys.'

In addition to Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Nick Carter, Ryan's throwback look was also compared to Dawson's Creek star James Van Der Beek, who also sported a similar 'do.

But while he might be a heartthrob all in his own right, Ryan doesn't play favorites when it comes to his fellow hunky actors.

On Twitter this week, the Deadpool star was asked to rate which celebrity named Chris was hottest: Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pratt, or Chris Evans.

Ryan didn't pick a favorite, and answered with a funny analogy that made it clear that he thinks all of those Chrises are top notch.

On January 2, he started things off with one of his typically funny tweets.

'Can someone settle an argument between me and my priest? Which Kardashians are pregnant?' he asked is 9.34 million followers — clearly having trouble keeping track of Khloe Kardashian's recent pregnancy confirmation and Kylie Jenner's rumored pregnancy.

A witty fan answered back, writing: 'Only if you can settle an argument with me and my friends. Which Chris is hotter, Hemsworth, Pratt, or Evans?'

Ryan wasn't about to pit once Chris against another, much like he probably wouldn't want to be compared to Ryan Gosling or Ryan Seacrest.

'When ordering ice cream, I like to get all three scoops,' he fired back.

Moments later, he added a shout-out to one famous Chris missing from the list, Chris Pine.

'And of course, some Pine nuts generously sprinkled on top,' he said.

Fans, naturally, delighted in the tweets. One joked that he should 'be our president, please' thanks to his diplomatic answer, while others showered him with approving gifs.

'Oh Ryan you are the best at one-liners. God luv ya. All hail the Canadian sarcasm,' wrote one.

'I love you Mr Reynolds, thanks for not forgetting the other Chris,' said another.
