'Ashley went to a boarding school and everyone there was extremely well spoken and she was bullied for the way she spoke,' her flatmate Charlotte De Carle, told The Sun.

'She had a Geordie accent when she was a lot younger and more impressionable – and being bullied for being 'common' as she was called made her want to change her accent.'

Meanwhile Ashley, who has lost her northern accent, added that she was 'proud' to come from a working class family, with her parents working two jobs to pay for her education.

She added: 'When I did Made in Chelsea people just assumed that I’ve had a hugely privileged life.'

Being a victim of bullying could have had affected the DJ in later life, as she previously discussed her battle with body dysmorphia and how it led to panic attacks.

Speaking to the MailOnline last June, Ashley insisted her experiences have led to her wanting to empower and inspire other women.

She claimed: 'Body confidence was something I had in a cock sure way as a teenager then I lost it because there's so much pressure on women.

'Girls are harsh, so everything I do now is to not tear women down.'

Too much information? The reality starlet has been keeping viewers amused as she revealed she once soiled herself while trying to win back an ex on Thursday night's episode of Celebrity Big Brother

The blonde beauty is hoping Celebrity Big Brother viewers will see a new side to her which she didn't expose during her time on Made in Chelsea.

And so far the reality starlet hasn't held back, as she revealed she once soiled herself while trying to win back an ex on Thursday night's episode of the show.

The now-turned social media influencer recalled the embarrassing moment, much to the amusement of her co-stars, but left former politician Ann Widdecombe, 70, far from impressed, as she said: 'The last thing I remember is him in marigolds, scrubbing at his sofa.'

Recalling her misfortune: Ashley explained she had been invited over for dinner by her ex-boyfriend and wanted to go in a bid to show him what he is missing, but was left making a speedy getaway after ruining his brand new sofa

She explained: 'An ex of mine treated me awfully, but I was 23 and I was so in love. He invited me over for dinner and I thought this is my chance to look amazing and no matter what happens, I'll leave in control and hope he'll want to get me back.

'We both had dinner - really creamy pasta - and were sitting on his brand new sofa, but I kept thinking my tummy is so sore. He was showing me what he had been up to on his iPad and he kept talking.'

She continued: 'I was waiting for him to pause, in his one bedroom flat - already thinking this is going to be awful - and so I thought I would try and relieve a bit of the pressure... the last thing I remember is him in marigolds scrubbing at his sofa.

Ashley revealed she quickly left her ex's house without speaking to him, before adding: 'I told my friends and they said, "Well he did s**t on your heart"'
