Posing alongside Coleen Rooney and Alex Gerrard at the World Cup in 2006, the mother-of-two admitted to feeling like the odd one out.

Speaking to The Sun Toni said: 'Everyone else seemed to look amazing but I hated all the pictures I saw of me.

'Perhaps I should have been easier on myself — I had just had twins, after all — but this was the slightly insane world I lived in and the pressure was immense.'

Toni revealed that she put on two stone during her pregnancy with her twins, putting some of her weight gain down to 'weird' cravings including lasagna with balsamic vinegar and coke.

She added:  'That was the trigger for me to change my body for ever. With the support of John, both of us are very happy indeed.'

The former England footballer is still a big part of Toni's health and fitness regime, featuring heavily in her new keep-fit book - The Buddy Workout.

Toni has dated Terry from the age of 16, when he was a year older and an apprentice footballer on £48 a week still living with his family in an estate in Barking, East London.

Their romance endured and they tied the knot at Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire, in 2007.

Earlier this year, the couple's £5 million mansion was ransacked by burglars in February as they holidayed in the French Alps.

During his trip abroad, the centre-back shared photographs on social media and boasted that he was having a 'great few days away skiing with the family'.

But the footballer did not realise that his innocent posts had apparently attracted the attention of a ruthless gang of prolific burglars.

The men broke into their home in Oxshott, Surrey, and spent hours ransacking the property.

They swiped designer handbags worth £126,000, including a £42,000 snakeskin Hermes bag, Chanel bags worth £8,000 and others from Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Yves Saint Laurent.

They also took a rare signed first edition Harry Potter books valued at £18,000.
