'Bag didn't make it on the flight': Playful Liev Schreiber says he was nearly forced to wear his 'bathing suit and bow tie' when airline lost his luggage ahead of Golden Globes

The Golden Globe Awards are one of the biggest nights of the year.

But poor Liev Schreiber suffered a fashion nightmare when Delta Air Lines lost his luggage ahead of the star-studded event in Beverly Hills on Sunday.

The awards show nominee, 50, made light of the situation as he joked he could wear his bow tie with his new bathing suit for the night.

It was a big night for American actor Liev who had been nominated for an award for the Best Actor in a TV drama category.

So of course the five-time Golden Globe nominated actor was a bit concerned when his bag didn't make it onto the flight and he joked about having to 'mix and match' his clothes for the glitzy ceremony.

'Bag didn’t make it on flight last night but life is good. Just bought a really expensive bathing suit in the gift shop to go with my winter sweater. Things are looking up,' he penned on Instagram.

'I now am in possession of exactly 4 items of clothing. It’s gonna be fun working the mix and match for #Globes tonight.

'Fingers crossed @Delta finds the rest of my clothes and I don’t have to do that tired old bow tie and bathing suit thing...'

Delta confirmed to MailOnline that they are working directly with Liev and they have now delivered the bag to the actor.

A spokesperson for the airline said: 'Our teams have been in touch with Mr. Schreiber and are working directly with him. I can confirm that the bag has been delivered to Mr. Schreiber.'

Dapper Liev later updated his fans all was well as he made it to the awards ceremony 'cleaned up and ready to go'.

The television sensation plays a 'fixer' for the Hollywood elite who gets rid of celebrities problems.

Asked whether there are really men out there who offer this service for A-listers, Liev told The Hollywood Reporter: 'They're mostly called attorneys now! But there are some guys who work like Ray.'
