Few footballers have had a more impressive last few years than Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.

He capped his stunning rise in footballing terms by finishing Premier League top scorer last season - something of a leap given he was being farmed out on loan just four years ago.

And this January Kane also had personal joy when he welcomed his first child, Ivy Jane, along with girlfriend Katie Goodland.

Even more brilliantly for the Spurs star, Kane proposed to Goodland on Saturday in Nassau, Bahamas, and in the England international's own words: 'She said yes!'

Snapped on a beautiful beach, Kane dropped down to one knee and popped the question to Goodland, who he has known since childhood.

The duo have enjoyed Kane's rise together - speaking in 2015, he revealed that they went to the same school and occasionally struggle to believe his rise to celebrity status.

On a professional level, Kane helped Spurs to a second-placed finish in the Premier League last season.

He will be hoping to help the north London club improve on that position after helping them launch their new kit - part of a £30million-a-year deal with Nike - on Friday evening.

Kane was also handed the England No 9 shirt by manager Gareth Southgate for the matches against Scotland and Germany earlier this summer.

The 23-year-old Chingford-born striker was named in the PFA Team of the Year and nominated for the PFA Player of the Year award.
