Paul and Mary back together! Bake Off hosts 'to reunite' for the US version of the show in a bid to revive flagging ratings
- Paul and Mary could judge new series of Great American Baking Show together
- ABC's president says Mary will return 'depending on her schedule'
- Last series starring Paul was pulled due to allegations against his co-judge
Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood could be reuniting to judge the Bake Off once again - but only Stateside.
In news bound to delight long-time fans of the hit baking show, a source claims that TV executives are hoping to recruit Mary for the Great American Baking Show.
She would join Paul Hollywood, who bosses at the ABC Network are still backing to return as a judge on the US show despite poor ratings.
Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry could reunite on the Great American Baking Show 'depending on schedule,' according to ABC
ABC Network President Channing Dungey told The Sun's Dan Wootton that Mary could be joining the programme 'depending on schedule'.
He said: 'The format is not that different from the British version but I think viewers respond to the hosts and the people we have here.
'We are excited about the way we are doing the show here in America.'
Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry have not been judges on the Bake Off together since the last series of GBBO on the BBC in 2016 (pictured on the show in 2016)
The news comes as channel bosses are expected to try and revive flagging ratings by replicating the winning formula of the Great British Bake Off, a source said.
A source told The Sun: 'The Mary and Paul combo is a winning formula and American bosses are well aware of that.'
Paul Hollywood was brought in as a judge on the third series of The Great American Baking Show to replace Mary Berry, who was on the show for the first two series.
But ABC was forced to pull the third series after just two episodes in December when Paul's co-judge Johnny Iuzzini was accused of sexual misconduct.
The third series averaged just 3.84 million viewers per episode, down on the second series' average ratings of 4.39 million per episode.
