Big little wigs! Nicole Kidman dresses down in grey hairpiece as she films new movie after glamming it up for her best actress Golden Globe win

She looked the glamorous movie star for her Golden Globes win on Sunday.

But Nicole Kidman was back at work and in character as she was spotted dressed down for a role in Los Angeles on Thursday.

The 50-year-old actress was a far cry from the red carpet as she wore a casual ensemble and sported a grey wig to play Erin Bell in Destroyer.

As a police detective in an undercover unit, Nicole's character branded a brown shirt, grey pants, and a dark jacket.

Her trademark platinum tresses were covered in a shaggy grey wig as she appeared to have dark makeup around her nose and eyes.

Nicole exited a grey police car with a camera mounted on the hood as she was surrounded by the movie's production crew.

Meanwhile, Nicole took home the Best Actress Award at the Golden Globes for her portryal in HBO's Big Little Lies.

And celebrated her win by joining Instagram and posing for her first picture while holding the award.

The star gained almost 350,000 followers in just hours, and proved herself to be social media savvy with her first caption, which read: 'About last night.'

'About last night... shut the place down! I am so proud of my Big Little Lies family and to have stood with my sisters on such a special night,' Nicole captioned the photo.

She then added the hash tag, 'Time's Up', in support of the anti-sexual harassment movement which has swept through Hollywood.

In her first photo, Nicole poses in her Golden Globes dress: a full-length black gown featuring a semi-sheer embellished top.

She pulls and animated facial expression while proudly showing off her award.

When accepting her award earlier in the evening, Nicole paid tribute to Reese, who also served as an executive producer.

And as her character Celeste Wright is the victim of domestic abuse, Nicole made sure to share a message of hope.

'The character that I play represents something that is the center of our conversation right now: abuse,' she said.

'I do believe and hope that we can elicit change - through the stories we tell and the way we tell them.'

Nicole also made sure to thank her country singer husband, saying: 'Keith Urban, when my cheek is against yours, everything melts away.'
