Nassar wrote in the letter that Judge Rosemarie Aquilina was conducting a 'four-day media circus' for her own gain, and claimed that 'listening to impact statements is detrimental to his mental health.' Fifty women have delivered victim impact statements at this point, with another 51 still to come. 'She wants me to sit in the witness box next to her for all four days so the media cameras will be directed toward her,' Nassar wrote in his six-page, single-spaced complaint. Judge Aquilina, who has spent the past two days individually addressing each victim after they deliver their statements in court, did the same for Nassar in the wake of his comments. 'This isn’t worth the paper it’s written on, there’s no truth in there, it’s delusional,' said Judge Aquilina, who pointed out that Nassar signed off on this when he accepted a plea deal.

Police on Thursday named Cleophus E. Cooksey Jr, 35, (main) as the suspect in nine fatal shootings in the Phoenix metro area between November 27 and December 17, saying ballistic evidence linked the murders. Cooksey, an aspiring rapper who is the grandson of a civil rights leader, has been in custody since December 17, when police found him at the scene of his mother and stepfather's murders. Using forensic evidence and witness statements, cops say they quickly linked him to seven other recent murders in Phoenix as well as suburban Avondale and Glendale, and are now appealing to the public for further information in the shocking case. The nine victims (seen right) were of multiple races and genders, ranging in age from 21 to 56.

The Nisenan people once inhabited the valleys of Central California once had a population in the thousands - but following the California Gold Rush in the nineteenth century, they were decimated, with the numbers dwindling significantly as white settlers took their land. While 52 Native American tribes have federal recognition - the Nisenan tribe is not among them. Federal recognition brings protection for reservations and federal support - something that the Nisenan do not have access to. Photographer Avery Leigh White visited the small tribe, attempting to capture their ancient customs and traditions on film for posterity.

Michelle shared a snap of beautiful flowers and a note (inset) from Barack on her birthday on Wednesday. She thanked him, while captioning it 'You're my best friend, biggest fan, and getting notes and flowers from you will never get old.' It seemed like the president had some competition from her adoring fans on her special day as she added a thank you 'to the many people from around the country who sent cards and posted on social media, you have no idea how much we love hearing from you.' Barack also made sure to wish his wife a happy birthday on social media, sharing a gorgeous throwback snap of him looking at her adoringly (left).

Katharine Gallagher, 27, died from the flu last month. Her boyfriend Andrew Carey, 44,(right) told Daily Mail Online that he found her dead on the floor of their Tustin, California, home after she appeared to be feeling much better. She caught pneumonia within days of first showing flu-symptoms. California has been hit particularly hard this flu season with 42 deaths so far in people under 65.

Royal bride-to-be Meghan Markle got a taste of British train travel today as she and her fiancé Prince Harry ran late for an engagement in Cardiff. US-born Miss Markle and Harry left Paddington Station on time at 11.15am on route for Cardiff. The Royal couple arrived in the Welsh capital to a tumultuous welcome from fans - but delays to the GWR train meant they arrived at the Welsh capital late for their third public engagement as a couple. Besotted Harry, 33, has made a promise to his bride-to-be to undertake visits across the U.K. before their wedding, to give the actress a chance to see the country she will come to call home and meet its people. Meghan wrapped up against the biting cold in a black coat by Stella McCartney and trousers by the Welsh fashion house, Hiut Denim – and even let one fan kiss her hand (centre). The pair have stopped to greet fans of all ages, some of whom have waited outside since 6am to meet the pair.

Meghan Markle, 36, and Prince Harry, 35, looked utterly in love as they visited Cardiff Castle on Thursday. In one tender moment, Meghan was captured smiling as her royal fiance whispered something in her ear (top). The couple looked completely relaxed in each other's company (bottom left) as they toured the historical site. The women, who spent the weekend at a bachelorette party in Scotland on an isolated estate, set their digital camera to a timer to take a burst of photographs and two snaps taken just seconds apart revealed something very spooky. In one photograph, left, the women can be seen posing and in the second, right, where they can be seen throwing their hands in the air, they were shocked by something rather spooky in the background.

Nick Nolte reveals he was 'powerfully drawn' to Barbra Streisand while filming The Prince of Tides in his upcoming memoir, Rebel: My Life Outside the Lines. He tells how director Barbra, who also co-starred, wanted Nolte to come over to her house, have a cocktail and introduce himself. 'I was powerfully drawn to her just as she was to me, so much so that I knew that early on we needed to talk about the reasons why we shouldn't slip into a romantic and sexual relationship with each other as we worked,' Nolte writes. While the film was going through editing, Nolte recalls Streisand had called him asked him to, 'come out and live' with her, but he declined. Nolte also reveals he dated British actress Jacqueline Bisset, but it was short-lived after she accused him of sleeping around. Nolte says it was his role as Tom Wingo in the mid-60s television mini-series, Rich Man, Poor Man - which he starred in alongside Peter Strauss - that changed his life as an actor. The actor also addressed his infamous 2002 arrest (bottom right) which got him into a psychiatric institute for 30 days. After his stint, he said, 'It was time for reinvention and reentry into the world.'

Ivanka may have been taking some extra time to get ready for the day, as she put on a glamorous display when she headed off to work at noon. EXCLUSIVE: ISIS has released a new propaganda video depicting a full-scale invasion of Washington DC. The five-minute movie, released on social media by pro-ISIS group Abd al Faqir Media, shows an army of terrorists surging through the city streets while ISIS jets race through the skies above. It starts with an edited scene taken from Hollywood blockbuster London Has Fallen showing a jihadi blowing up a bridge while crossing in a van packed with explosives as cars fall into the river below.

Maysen Melton, 16 (left and right), was arraigned Wednesday with two dozen counts related to the rape of four of his classmates at Shadow Ridge High School in Las Vegas (center inset). Despite being a minor, Melton is being charged as an adult because he has already going through the juvenile sex offender program for an earlier offense. He could face up to life in prison if convicted in his latest case. Prosecutors say Melton raped four classmates between the ages of 14 and 18 at Shadow Ridge High School in the 2016-2017 academic year. After his Wednesday arraignment, Melton was taken into custody and ordered held on $200,000.

Delta retired its last 747 passenger plane in January, marking the final flight of the jumbo jet by a U.S. carrier. The old planes are at a 'boneyard' in Arizona, a salvage facility where planes are sent to be stored or scrapped. United also retired its 747s in November but foreign airlines including British Airways, Lufthansa and Korean Air use the 747 for passenger flights. 'Boneyards' in Arizona, California and New Mexico are home to hundreds of retired commercial and military aircraft that are stored in the dry desert conditions to prevent them from going rusty. The 747 was designed to provide seating for growing numbers of passengers and heralded the beginning of the age air travel for the masses. It first flew in February 1969.

The 33-year-old Facebook founder shared a photo of himself and wife Priscilla Chan seeing off their oldest daughter Max, two. The couple are also parents to another little girl, August, who is four months old. Zuckerberg recently announced that Facebook's news feed would be seeing broad changes to prioritize friends' posts, citing fatherhood as his inspiration.

NEW  A Canadian tricked police in Montreal this week by sculpting a Delorean out of snow, leading them to believe there was an illegally parked car underneath. Simon Laprise said it took him four hours to build the snowy car that was made famous in the 1980s film 'Back to the Future', according to a report by the New York Daily News. After his project, Laprise, a machinist by trade, posted a picture on social media of a confused police officer standing next to the 'car'. 

This is the bizarre moment a woman treats her huge python like a little puppy and forces it to take a bubble bath.  The video, recorded in Germany, shows the woman dragging the huge yellow python into the bathroom before gently placing her in the bath tub. The snake, covered in soap, lays in the water as its owner gently kicks it from behind, encouraging to completely immerse itself in the water.

Photographer Eli Rezkallah, 31, from Lebanon, re-shot the images from the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s but swapped the roles of the male and female characters to highlight their sexist messages. The adverts, promoting brands like Hoover and Van Heusen, depict women as subservient and downtrodden while men are intelligent and domineering. The striking results of Eli's project draw attention to the derogatory and abusive meanings behind the advertisements.

Living a life on the road often means you have to go without certain luxuries or home comforts - but not if you've got hundreds of thousands of dollars to throw at an RV. This new 37ft hotel-on-wheels has just been launched and it boasts a fully fitted kitchen, king-sized bed and even a 39-inch exterior TV screen. And if the owners fancy driving the vehicle somewhere chilly, a fireplace (top left) can even be installed. The vehicle, called Embark, is a joint venture between Jayco and Spartan Motors and would set a potential buyer back at least $300,000 (£209,000). It was revealed ahead of the Florida RV SuperShow in Tampa.

This is the incredible moment Pope Francis brought his motorcade to a halt to check on a policewoman who had been thrown from her horse. Francis descended from his popemobile after celebrating Mass in Iquique, Chile, to check on the officer, who was on guard while Francis and his entourage passed by. The horse reared up violently as the vehicle approached and the officer tumbled off. The motorcade was forced to take evasive action and swerved to avoid the animal. Francis stood by the woman until an ambulance arrived with a stretcher and took her away, before resuming his ride. The Vatican said the woman was conscious 'and received some words of consolation from the Holy Father'.

Essence Evans revealed on Facebook that her daughter gets a $7 allowance, but she has to give $5 back to her for 'bills.' The little girl pays her mom $1 for rent, $1 for water, $1 for electricity, $1 for cable, and $1 for food. After her 'bills' are paid, Essence's daughter can choose to save the remaining $2 or spend it how she pleases. The older man is overcome with emotions and brought to tears.

A six-month-old baby in China has surprised his parents by suddenly starting to talk during a painful vaccination. A short video clip shows the baby boy crying in his father's arms after the nurse had given the injection into the baby's right arm. He cried and made the sound resembling 'it's so painful' in Mandarin, leaving his parents surprised for the sudden speech.

Daredevil wingsuit pilots from all over the world came together to create stunning formations in the sky. They appeared to defy the laws of gravity with their mesmerising movements, in this captivating footage. Several thousand feet above the ground in Sebastian, Florida, members of Team Need4Speed, have congregated together from over 16 different countries to perform an array of seemingly impossible maneuvers in breathtaking symmetry. Despite hurtling through the skies at neck-breaking speeds, the group seem strangely peaceful as they create exquisite shapes in the sky.

This is the incredible moment when a British Marine biologist pets sharks like puppies in the waters near the Bahamas. Alexander Wilcox, an apprentice under conservationist and 'shark whisperer' Cristina Zenato showed off his skills to other divers as they are swamped by sharks. In the video, Mr Wilcox can clearly be seen doing what many would believe unthinkable - stroking, touching and holding one of nature's most feared predator's in tropical waters.

The archipelago of eight islands was formerly known to Europeans and Americans as the 'Sandwich Islands', a name chosen by Cook in honour of the then First Lord of the Admiralty John Montagu, 4th Earl of Sandwich, the name stayed in use until the 1840s when the local name 'Hawaii' gradually began to take precedence.
