A former girlfriend of Brazil Gurung, who shot and killed British backpacker Amelia Blake, 22, (right), sent frantic text messages to his relatives hours before his body was discovered. Gurung, (left) 33, ended his own life after shooting Ms Blake at their Newtown apartment (inset), in Sydney's inner-west, last Friday. A relative of the Nepalese chef revealed the text messages to the Daily Telegraph, as his ex-girlfriend believed he 'had people waiting for him'. 'He was having lots of calls from no. caller id,' the text reads. 'I don't know what he got into but it scared me.' Detectives are still investigating the deaths as Ms Blake's family prepare to fly to Australia.

Australian ambassador to the United States and former federal treasurer Joe Hockey (inset) and his investment banker wife Melissa Babbage appear to be planning a permanent move to Washington. The couple have listed their Sydney mansion (pictured) for sale some 14 years after purchasing it for AU$3.5 million, prompting speculation that they will be moving to Washington for good. Nestled in the exclusive suburb of Hunters Hill, the property is expected to sell for a whopping $8 million - a year after Mr Hockey sold his Canberra residence for upwards of $1.5 million.

Michael Douglas accuser Susan Braudy (pictured left during the interview on Friday and inset in the 1980s) spoke out to the Today show in her first TV interview on Friday. She described how Douglas allegedly masturbated in front of her during a meeting at his apartment in 1989. Braudy first detailed her accusations against Douglas to the Hollywood Reporter on Thursday. Glenn Antony Dylan Hartland, 43, from Melbourne, was committed to stand trial on Friday for the alleged rape and false imprisonment of four women he met on dating app Tinder. Mr Hartland is charged with multiple counts of rape and false imprisonment of the women he met online between 2014 and 2016.

American doctor Edmund Pribitkin, 52, and his 17-year-old son Edik were allegedly attacked by a gang of youths in Melbourne's Queen Victoria Gardens while on their way back from the Australian Open tennis on Wednesday night. The doctor suffered serious head injuries so brutal he was placed in an induced coma following the shocking attack. His son's nose was broken and also suffered a concussion after the pair were punched and kicked before the assailants took off with their personal items. Three Australians jailed over alleged links to a $500million cocaine drug bust are expected spend six weeks behind bars before being extradited from Serbia. Rohan Arnold - dubbed the 'king of steel' for his roaring success in the industry - may be coming back to Australia in custody after he was arrested at gunpoint inside the Metropol Palace Hotel, in Belgrade, on Wednesday. The 44-year-old was drinking with Tristan Waters, 34, David Campbell, 48, and Diab George, 40, a Lebanese man, in the hotel lobby when they were arrested in dramatic circumstances. The three Australian men could remain in prison for up to six weeks while extradition negotiations take place between Serbia and Australia. Video of the group of boys attacking a man on William Street in Perth emerged on Tuesday, and local business owners claimed they are a gang who terrorise the area. Michelle said her son is remorseful, but she stands by her parenting and is proud of him for standing up for a mate who the teens say racially abused one of them. 'Talk s***, you get hit,' she said when questioned about her Year 8 son's behavior, and stuck by her statement when asked. 'I've always taught my son not to take c*** from anybody. What did he [the victim] think was going to happen? If he's [the victim] going to say racial things like that, someone will retaliate.'

A Sydney party girl who promised to go straight after becoming notorious for keeping meth in her bra is behind bars on drug and theft charges. Kurt Stevenson, 27, Andrew Waters, 25, and Tristan Carlyle-Watson, 27, have been jailed over the gang rape, which was filmed on a GoPro camera, at a western Sydney house party. NSW District Court Judge Sharron Norton sentenced Stevenson to a maximum of 13 years in jail and a non-parole period of nine years. The last to be sentenced, Carlyle-Watson (pictured), was sentenced to a minimum of four years and nine months. The girl told police she had 'two cones of cannabis' and was 'made a drink'.

A hairdresser who came from humble beginnings in his family salon can now call himself Prince William's stylist after being invited to Kensington Palace to shave the royal's head. Joey Wheeler was yesterday taken to the royal residence to give the Duke of Cambridge the number one buzzcut (inset). Mr Wheeler specialises in the 'scissor over comb' freehand technique which he used on the royal's hair. An eerie picture of an abandoned yellow brick road at a Wizard of Oz theme park has sparked a slew of comments suggesting the children's classic is actually a horror movie. Posted to Reddit’s 'abandonedporn' subreddit thread by user notateselecta, the picture sees the yellow brick road covered in fog with spooky trees flanking the pathway. Fully abandoned for 11 years, the theme park in North Carolina is now open on certain days of the year and can be rented out for private events.

Two healthy dogs were recovered from the California House of Horrors this week as the couple accused of torturing their 13 children for years inside pleaded not guilty to 75 charges. David, 57, and Louise Turpin, 49, denied the charges not long after they were announced by the Riverside County District Attorney on Thursday afternoon. They are set to appear in court again on February 23. The pair were brought into court via a tunnel from the nearby Robert Presley Detention Center where they have been held since being transferred from Perris on Monday morning. Early Sunday, authorities found their toddler to adult-aged children, malnourished and shackled, in the filthy house alongside two happy and healthy one-year-old Maltese puppies.
