She became engaged to the love of her life, Daryl Sabara, on her 24th birthday last month. 

But as it turns out, Meghan Trainor is having a hard time remembering much of the proposal.   

'I blacked out,' The songstress said during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday. 'I told him, "What did you say?" He got down, I remember that, and was like, "What's happening!?"'

The couple had actually selected an engagement ring months in advance, but still the proposal came as a surprise for Meghan.   

'We picked out the ring months before but I was just waiting for him to propose,' she explained.

'He took me for my birthday to Palm Springs to this zoo, that had incredible Christmas lights, which he knows I'm obsessed with. So I was like, "You killed it! Like great birthday, let's do this every year!" 

'And then I tried to Snapchat and he was like, "Can you just put that away for one second?" And I was like, "uh oh!"' 

'You can't hear it on the little Instagram video but I was like," and then she pretended to wail. 'I lost my voice, I was screaming, my whole family was there... perfect!'

She said it was important she received her family's approval too.

'I always told him, if you're going to propose, make sure my entire family is there to pat us on the back and be like, "This is the right thing! Congrats!" And they were!' 

The Grammy award winning singer recently announced her engagement by sharing a sweet video of herself overcome with emotion as Daryl popped the question on her 24th birthday.

'I SAID YESSSS!!!!' she gushed in the caption of the video, posted in early December. 'For my 24th birthday, the love of my life @darylsabara made all of my dreams come true.

'He proposed to me under a tunnel of beautiful Christmas lights and surprised me with my family and friends. I'm still in shock. I've never been this happy!
