Justin Bieber joins dad Jeremy and brother Jaxon for low-key lunch... amid claims he is shunning the Grammys for a second year to work on his album

Last year, Justin Bieber opted to bow out of attending the Grammys despite being nominated for a whopping four gongs.

And it has now been reported that the star is set to be absent from the red carpet for the second year running as TMZ allege that the star will miss the show again as he is intent on working on his new album before hitting the red carpet.

Shortly before news arose, the 23-year-old singer was spotted grabbing a bite to eat with his dad Jeremy and little half-brother Jaxon in Hollywood.

Justin looked casual for the outing, rocking grey sweatpants, hightops, a fitted long-sleeve sweater and a turquoise baseball cap. His sibling, eight, dressed similarly in seats, trainers and a white tee.

Their dad meanwhile opted for distressed jeans and a T-shirt over a long-sleeve top, a beanie and shades - looking every inch the edgy father.

While he took a break from his music-making for lunch, he is said to be less keen to attend this Sunday's Grammys where his song Despacito, with Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee, is nominated for three awards.

Despite being up for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Record of the Year and Song of the Year he is turning his back on an appearance to work on his album.

The night before his lunch date, Justin took his wheelchair-bound mum to church in Beverly Hills.

Pattie Mallett, who recently suffered a broken foot while holidaying in the Maldives with the popstar, joined him at his beloved Hillsong Church.

She hinted the singer's increasingly religious outlook helped mend the previous rift between them, following years of estrangement.

'None of us are perfect and never will be, (so we will always need patience and grace for each other), but your genuine growing relationship with Jesus is evident in the choices you are making daily and the good “fruit” you bear,' she wrote.

It was on the trip she broke her foot on the first day — however she has yet to reveal what happened.
