But the pre-partying was in full swing at the Spotify Best New Artists Party in New York on Thursday night.

Skylight Clarkson sq was packed with emerging and established talents of the music industry, and a few famous face from outside the industry too.

Representing the old guard was 16-time Grammy-winner Sting, who's date for the night was wife of 26 years Trudie Styler.

His latest album collaborator Shaggy was also on hand, as the duo posed for pics together.

The party celebrated the five artists up for Best New Artist, including Julia Michaels, SZA, Alessia Cara, Khalid and Lil Uzi Vert, as well as Marshmello, Bebe Rexha, Alesso, Kacey Musgraves, Chvrches and Jade Bird.

The Grammy Awards take place on Sunday in Madison Square garden, hosted by James Corden.
