Shy Stone! Makeup-free Emma pulls down her stylish pub cap over her eyes to avoid being seen in NYC

Emma Stone went makeup-free in New York City on Thursday.

And the 29-year-old Magic In The Moonlight actress seemed to want to hide her face as she pulled a chic black pub cap over her eyes.

The world's highest-paid actress wore multiple layers and an over-sized baseball cap as she attempted to go incognito.

Stone is known for being a private star and likely took the extra measure to avoid drawing attention.

In addition to the large black hat that concealed half of her face, the Easy A actress wore a thick gray turtleneck, a long FRAME trench coat jacket, and black yoga pants.

The star also donned a black purse and white Adidas sneakers as she rushed out of the street.

While The Help star was shy during her outing, she was in a much more upbeat mood when she was interviewed with her best friend Jennifer Lawrence, 27, for W Magazine earlier this month.

As the women laughed and bantered with each other, the former redhead told the magazine: 'Do you understand that spending time with us is just us sitting and screaming at each other?'

Lawrence responded to Stone's comment with: 'We just scream at each other. We're both hoarse after we hang out—us, oh my god. I can't imagine what it must be like for other people. We should never hang out, only with each other.'

A few days later, the best friends further showed off the dynamic of their relationship when Lawrence posted a hilarious video on social media. The American Hustle star posted it after Stone told her she didn't want to go to any Golden Globes after-parties.

In the video, she's asked by the Zombieland actress, 'Hi, what happened tonight?' Then the girls erupt into laughter.

'Well, you had told me that you wanted me to be your date to the after parties so I, you know, got us some tickets to some after parties,' Lawrence explained. 'I booked a car and I was halfway through glam when you told me that you didn’t want to go. You just wanted to come over to my house, so I sent my hair and makeup team home and now this is what I look like.'
