First trailer: The Marvel Studios film will hit theaters on July 6
Peyton Reed directed the flick, which is the sequel to the original 2015 release in the series.
The trailer begins with dramatic dialogue between Rudd and Lilly.
The two superheroes look serious as Rudd's character asks the heroine: 'I just have one question. When Cap needed help, if I had asked you, would you have come?'
Lilly's alter-ego responds by saying, 'I guess we'll never know. But if you had, you'd have never been caught.'
Taking a side: In Captain America: Civil War, Ant-Man helps fight against Iron-Man's crew
Civil War: Peyton Reed's sequel takes place in the aftermath of Captain America: Civil War, in which Ant-Man sided with the captain
The sequel takes place after the events of Captain America: Civil War, which pitted Marvel superheroes against each other as they sided with either Captain America or Iron-Man during political conflict.
The Wasp's clever response to Ant-Man foreshadows her strength and attitude as a female superhero in Reed's sophomore film.
Ant-Man smiles after the Wasp gives him her sassy answer.
Smirk: Rudd is pictured as Ant-Man after having a serious conversation with his romantic and crime-fighting partner, the Wasp
FBI: The superhero continues to be watched by the FBI as his criminal past follows him
Sad man: Rudd's character is still working on cleaning up his act and making amends for his past crimes
Family home: Ant-Man's home looks nice on the outside, but the inside is another story as Lang's history catches up to him
House raid: Ant-Man may be a superhero, but he still has to pay the consequences for his criminal actions as the FBI raids his home
The first Ant-Man movie depicted Rudd's character as a petty criminal who had trouble sorting out his personal life and being a responsible family man.
The new trailer shows that the superhero is still trying to get his act together.
'I do some dumb things, and the people I love the most, they pay the price,' he says as the FBI puts a tracking device on his ankle and raids his house.
'Thanks to you we had to run... We're still running,' the Wasp tells Ant-Man.
The Wasp: Lilly stars as the Wasp, who is Hank Pym's daughter and Ant-Man's partner
Car chase: The trailer shows several action scenes, including a crazy car chase full of crashes
Out of the way! The intense video shows several out of control vehicles speeding through the streets and causing chaos
Crash! Like all good car chases, this one comes to an end with a crazy crash
Fly away! While Ant-Man himself can't fly, he has a bug-mobile to make a quick escape if needed
The action-packed trailer then shows Ant-Man making an escape while flying on his bug-mobile, as well as an intense gun-packed car chase with his partner, the Wasp.
Lang and van Dyne shrink themselves to avoid being caught, and later jump back to regular size, which helps them save their skin.
Fans also get a sneak peak at one of the film's villains — the elusive Ghost — who is played by Hannah John-Kamen.
Ghost: One of the film's villains is Ghost, a gender-fluid hacker who is played by Hannah John-Kamen
Worried daughter: Cassie Lang, who is Ant-Man's daughter, is played by Abby Ryder Fortson
The trailer continues to show adrenaline-fueled drama full of explosions, police, and car chases, when it suddenly cuts to Ant-Man's daughter offering sage advice.
'Maybe you just need someone watching your back,' she tells her father.
'Like a partner,' she quips, as the trailer shows the Wasp fighting against villains.
Fierce Wasp: The Wasp is both beauty and brawn in the theatrical trailer
Fierce fighter: Lilly's character kicks major butt regardless of the fact that she's a female superhero fighting against bigger men
Wings! Unlike Ant-Man, the Wasp's superhero suit includes wings for flight
The action switches to a comical scene that includes Rudd's character in a surveillance van with Michael Douglas, who plays the Wasp's father, Hank Pym.
As the two watch the Wasp engage in a fight, Ant-Man asks Pym, 'Hold on, you gave her wings?'
'And a blaster,' Pym says in a quick matter-of-fact tone.
'So, I take it you didn't have that tech available for me?' Ant-Man inquires.
Pym reveals, 'No, I did.'
Smart man: Michael Douglas plays the Wasp's father, Hank Pym, who created both suits for each superhero
'No, I did': Rudd's character has difficulty understanding why Pym didn't give his Ant-Man suit the same perks that the Wasp's suit has
Side by side: Douglas is also seen with Lilly as they touch hands
The trailer then ends with Lilly's character making her own escape while riding in the back of an SUV.
Her quick-thinking causes her to use an unexpected item as a weapon: a Hello Kitty pez dispenser.
She throws the bright dispenser at a villain on a motorcycle, thus closing out the action-packed trailer.
Odd weapon: Lilly's character uses an odd but successful choice for a weapon
Hello Kitty! The trailer ends with a ridiculously funny scene showing the Wasp's escape by using a Hello Kitty pez dispenser to her advantage
