'I have shelter again': Controversial rapper Azealia Banks says she got a million dollar album deal after 'industry left me out on the street like a stray dog'
Azealia Banks is off to a rich start this year.
The 26-year-old artist on Wednesday said via Instagram that she's inked a $1 million pact with the company Entertainment One after a period in which she did not have one.
'I’m now officially signed to E1 Entertainment!! I HAVE A HOME AGAIN... I’m crying,' Banks said on Instagram. 'The Industry left me out on the street like a stray dog and now I have shelter again.'

The New York City native made clear she was very emotional as she hearkened her lucrative new business deal, adding that the lucrative deal was 'really making [her] cry' tears of joy.
'I’m so happy and grateful and thankful for all of this and I promise,' she said, addressing her fans by the vulgar nickname she's given them (which she says with affection).
The Big Big Beat performer said, 'I’m going to make the K**** so proud. Thank you guys so freaking much you don’t know how much this means to me.'
The artist, whose full name is Azealia Amanda Banks, expanded on her indebtedness to her fanbase, explaining that she was finally receiving the acceptance she sought - 'When I was a little girl all I wanted was to be loved,' she said - as a child who came from 'a very broken household.'

She said, 'I’ve been all around the world but I swear I’ve never felt more understood, cared for and welcome than I have with you all.
'YOU are the loves of my life. I don’t need anyone else but my k****. Thank you for everything.'
The Liquorice artist has bounced around a number of labels in her career, including Universal Music, RZA and XL Recordings.
Banks recently announced plans for an album titled Fantasea II: The Second Wave, which she says will be released in March, buoyed by a lead single titled Anna Wintour, after the famed fashion personality.
The rapper rose to fame with her 2011 song 212, but her career has been overshadowed by picking fights with other artists on Twitter, and being involved in violent outbursts.
Banks has publicly used racial slurs against other artists including former One Direction singer Zayn Malik.
She also supported Donald Trump during the presidential election and mocked Hillary Clinton fans Katy Perry and Lady Gaga once she lost the election.
The Ice Princess rapper was also accused in October 2015 of attacking a bouncer at a Los Angeles nightspot, according to Assistant District Attorney Shea Donato, though the charges were subsequently dropped.
Banks previously accused actor Russell Crowe of assaulting her before dropping the charges in October last year.
