He was soon inundated with comments from his 10.7m Instagram followers with one writing 'aw so sweet, for your dads' while another wrote 'Super cute ... daddy’s year of birth'.

Last month the teenager revealed a new Buster tattoo just above his bellybutton, paying tribute to both his childhood nickname and the tattoo David got on his neck in 2015.

The budding photographer, who has been called 'Buster' since the 'day he was born', unveiled the minimalist tattoo in a back and white Instagram snap on Friday.

The tattoo is a nod to David's 'Buster' tattoo on his neck, written in the curly cursive font above a little black love heart.

The father-of-four shared the inking on Instagram and wrote: 'I've always called Brooklyn (Buster) since the day he was born.... Love you Bust @brooklynbeckham.'

Brooklyn has used body art to honour David before, and in October he got the number seven tattooed on his little finger in a nod to his father’s illustrious sporting career.

The single digit – David’s squad number while playing for Manchester United and England – also serves as a middle name for Brooklyn’s six-year-old sister Harper.

Sharing a shot after Brooklyn’s visit to New York based tattooist Evan Kim, the artist wrote: ‘His lucky number SE7EN!’

David made the number seven shirt his own during a trophy-laden spell with the Red Devils, with whom he won six Premier League titles, the FA Cup and UEFA Champions League, and a 13-career with the national team that included 115 caps, sixteen goals and appearances at five major tournaments.

The teenager previously revealed the single word ‘Seven,’ inked in a prominent position above his left wrist, shortly after enrolling at Parsons' in August.

Brooklyn, an aspiring photographer who currently studies the subject at Parson’s School of Design in Greenwich Village, also requested the word ‘CLICK’ on his inner index finger.

His first came in April - a forearm inking which directly mimics his father David's - is an illustration of a Native American in traditional headdress.

Only weeks after sitting for the tattoo at Shamrock Social Club, he revealed a second intricate inking of what appeared to be a Fujitsu camera on his left bicep, a homage to the aspiring photographer's passion.

In July he debuted his third piece of body art on Instagram, posting a photo of an intricate compass design upon his left forearm.

The teenager later revealed his fifth design, a distinctive eagle occupying the space between his thumb and forefinger.

Shortly afterwards Brooklyn showcased the words 'Made In England', inked across his left foot - an ironic choice as his namesake was inspired by his parents love of America, and he now divides his time between England and the States.

This came shortly before he revealed a sizeable new rose tattoo, which is located along the side of his torso.
