Oops! Helena Bonham Carter, 51, suffered an embarrassing blip as she congratulated the renowned American screen writer for his BAFTA win live on stage on Sunday night
James had been called up to the stage to accept his award for best Adapted Screenplay on Call Me By Your Name.
The producer, who had been sitting with Helena in the audience, got up to collect his award and do his speech.
And delighted, Helena rose with him to congratulate him on his win.
But her hug and rushed kiss missed his cheek as he rushed towards the stage, with Helena instead landing a somewhat awkward kiss on his shoulder.

But the talented actress took it in good spirits, chuckling as she clapped her firm friend to the stage for his win.
Earlier in the night she walked the red carpet with acclaimed American screenwriter James Ivory, 89, who was nominated for his work on the screenplay and as producer for Call Me By Your Name.
The star, who has worked with Helena on A Room With A View and Howard's End, looked dapper in a black suit and bow tie as he chivalrously escorted the actress along the red carpet.

The stars turned out in force at the 2018 BAFTA award ceremony on Sunday, held at the Royal Albert Hall in London for the second year in a row, after the move from the Royal Opera House.
Members of the Time's Up initiative sent around a letter urging guests 'to wear black to the awards ceremony, to follow suit from our sisters who attended the Golden Globes'.
Just a month ago, most of the stars who attended the Golden Globes wore black in a show of solidarity towards victims of sexual harassment.

Following the nomination announcements back in January, BAFTA was criticised about the absence of women making this year’s Best Director shortlist.
Greta Gerwig, director of Lady Bird, was notably absent from the shortlist –despite the film receiving nominations for Original Screenplay, Leading Actress and Supporting Actress and winning two Golden Globes last week.
Angelina Jolie also failed to make the cut for directing First They Killed My Father, nominated for the category of Film Not in the English Language.
Other female directors left off include Lucy Cohen, who directed Kingdom of Us, and Rungano Nyoni for I Am Not A Witch – despite both having made it into the Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer category.
Of all the 2018 BAFTA Film nominees in non-gender-specific categories, only around 20 per cent are women.
Showstopping: Helena looked suitably regal as she arrived at the BAFTAs at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday, and seemed to give a nod to her new role in The Crown with her sparkly bag
Show off your shoulders like Helena in Vivienne Westwood
This weekend marks the arrival of the BAFTAs and that means that we've got plenty of beautiful red carpet dresses to swoon over!
From Margot Robbie in Givenchy to Salma Hayek in Gucci, the A-listers brought their A-game when it came to dressing for the occasion and Helena Bonham Carter was no exception!
Helena opted for a Vivienne Westwood gown for the big night and teamed it with a playful clutch! We love the draped bardot neckline, the asymmetric finish and the silky fabric of this dress and it looks great paired with statement earrings, a la Helena. Sadly you can't shop it right now but you can click the link to your right to shop the current Vivienne Westwood collection!
