Heading back to the Big Apple and being among friends seems to be helping the star cope with the loss.

She was joined on-set by co-stars Sutton Foster and Jennifer Westfeldt who were dressed up equally as fabulous.

The trio were shooting scenes from the fifth season of the hit TV Land series about Liza, a 40-something woman (played by Foster) who fakes being younger for the sake of getting a job.

Duff plays the role of Liza's close friend and co-worker Kelsey Peters, who both work at Empirical Press.

Westfeldt, who joined the show during season four in a recurring role, stars as the ex-wife of Charles Brooks (Peter Hermann)--- Liza and Kelsey's handsome boss.

Though her character Pauline thinks she can get back with Charles, there's been some unresolved sexual tension between Charles and Liza that will come to a head when the show returns according to series creator Darren Star.

'The Liza and Charles story will be front and center in season five, no question,' Star told The Hollywood Reporter

'There is a lot of story to tell there,' he continued.

'As writers, we're invested in Liza and Charles' story but at the same time, it's not an open and honest relationship yet. There's a lot at stake for Liza being truthful with Charles.'

There's no word yet as to when season five will premiere.
