'That is really heartbreaking': Izzy Judd shares emotional Instagram post reflecting on her IVF struggles as her daughter Lola starts nursery

She has written a heartfelt and uplifting book about her journey through IVF.

And on Monday Izzy Judd was in a reflective mood as she dropped her daughter Lola, two, off at nursery for the first time.

The wife of McFly drummer Harry, told her Instagram followers the milestone was 'heartbreaking' but had helped her recall happier memories of the moment she found out her IVF attempts had been successful.

Izzy uploaded a selfie of herself looking teary-eyed alongside a lengthy caption describing how she was sat in a coffee shop waiting for pick-up time after dropping little Lola off.

'This is my that was a really heartbreaking nursery drop off face... little Lola was peeled off me I know she will be absolutely fine once I leave the room!' she told her followers.

She explained that she was extra emotional though due to the poignancy of her location, writing: 'What has made me feel so emotional is that I’m sat in the local coffee shop nearby whilst I wait to collect her. It is near to where we used to live so haven’t been here for so long.'

'However it was sat in this very coffee shop that the phone went on the morning of 7th May 2015 to say that our little embryo had survived and we could go in for transfer.'

'To think of that amazing phone call and now sitting here two years later, to think of her struggling with this new transition is just a little bit tough!'

'Also after my previous post I think I’m just feeling a little bit sentimental! Right... time to take a deep breath and enjoy a cup of tea,' she finished the post.

Izzy and Harry welcomed Lola in January 2016 after a long and traumatic process of IVF. Their son Kit was born last August after being conceived naturally.

Over the weekend violinist Izzy, who suffers from polycistic ovaries, opened up on her and Harry's journey to parenthood in an Instagram post entitled 'Can we talk Fertility?'.

Izzy revealed that the couple have had three successfully fertilised embryos from their first round of IVF.

'We heartbreakingly miscarried our first baby and then went on to meet Lola. We have one frozen embryo sitting waiting (I like to think it has a bobble hat on to keep cosy),' she wrote.

'Each year we get a letter from our fertility clinic to ask if we want to continue with another years storage. I can’t ever imagine ticking that box to say we are letting go because to me that little embryo is part of us and I feel such a strong connection,' Izzy continued.

'I look at Lola and think the embryologist picked you that day but they could have picked our other embryo. As they were the same grade and quality it was literally a game of eeny meeny miny moe.'

'Of course nobody knows the destiny of each embryo but holding Lola’s hand I can’t begin to imagine that we might have never had the chance to meet her, how can we leave one embryo behind after everything we went through to create you.'

'What if that embryo had been Lola... it really plays on my mind and I wondered if anyone else feels a heavy heart for their frozen embryos and generally feels unsettled about it?'
