Kristen Wiig in talks to play villain Cheetah opposite Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman in 2019 sequel
Kristen Wiig has been in talks to play the villain in the Wonder Woman sequel.
The 44-year-old actress has emerged as the frontrunner to play the role of Cheetah, according to an article on Wednesday by Deadline.
Wonder Woman 2 will be set in the 1980s amid the backdrop of the Cold War.

Patty Jenkins, 46, will be back to direct the sequel along with star Gal Gadot, 32, in the lead role.
Wonder Woman was released in June 2017 and earned more than $821 million at the worldwide box office.
The film based on the DC Comics character was nominated for three awards at the 23rd Critics' Choice Awards and won for Best Action Movie.
Wiig rose to fame while appearing on the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live from 2005 to 2012.

She co-wrote and starred in the 2011 comedy Bridesmaids and was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.
Wiig also had one of the leading roles in the all-female reboot Ghostbusters alongside Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon.
She is best known for her comedies but also has starred in the sci-fi drama The Martian and will be featured in the upcoming Where'd You Go, Bernadette film adaptation by director Richard Linklater.

Gadot first played Wonder Woman in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice.
She went on to play the Amazon warrior goddess in Wonder Woman and Justice League.
Wonder Woman 2 is scheduled for release on November 1, 2019.
Cheetah has been a major foe of Wonder Woman since first appearing in Wonder Woman #6 in October 1943.
