The Biggest Loser's Steve 'Commando' Willis lands in Melbourne with a spring in his step after romantic US jaunt with Michelle Bridges

He's always full of boundless energy, but Steve 'Commando' Willis seemed to have an extra spring in his step as arrived at Melbourne airport on Thursday.

The Biggest Loser fitness trainer beamed from ear to ear as he made his way through Tullamarine airport in casual Converse sneakers, jeans and a tight green T-shirt.

And it's no wonder he's in such good spirits - he's fresh back from a romantic jaunt in New York with co-star Michelle Bridges.

Michelle is currently based in the US while on a promotional blitz for her online weight-loss program, 12 Week Body Transformation.

But she found time for a little romance too during his visit and happily posed for an Instagram selfie with Commando earlier this week.

Michelle followed the post up with a romantic quote about love by French novelist, George Sand.

'There is only one happiness in life, to love and be loved,' it read.

The pair have been back together for just over three months after rekindling their romance back in October.

The ex-factor: Michelle began dating Steve after splitting with husband of nine years, Bill Moore

Commando was in Melbourne to promote the return of The Biggest Loser.

He posted photo of himself in a radio station on Friday flexing his tattooed arm as he holds his headphones in place.

He captioned the shot: 'Big day of radio and interviews for the @BiggestLoserAU launch this Sunday on 10...#getcommandofit'.

The couple have had a tumultuous relationship in the mere eight months that they have been dating on and off.

The duo first went public with their romance back in May last year, just two months after Michelle split from her husband of nine years, Bill Moore.

But three months later, the pair called time on the relationship, with Willis getting back together and moving back in with his ex-girlfriend and the mother of his two children, Froso.

Meanwhile, Michelle seemingly mended her broken heart by heading to Europe on a trip that was originally intended to be a romantic holiday with Willis.

But it wasn't too long before they were back in each other's arms, with friends telling The Daily Telegraph in October that they just couldn't stay apart.

'Michelle and Steve are giving it another crack. They're definitely back together,' a source told the paper.

'They have a really strong connection - Steve tried to be with his family but he and Michelle are back together trying to make it work,' another insider added.

The Biggest Loser: Challenge Australia begins January 19, on Network Ten.
