Queen Mathilde looked sleek in a pair of suit trousers as she stepped out for an engagement in Brussels on Friday.  

The royal, 45, donned the stylish ensemble as she attended a meeting at the city's Debt Mediation Services to discuss new strategies to help young people avoid debt.

It comes following Belgium's Global Money Week, which encourages a greater public understanding of finances.

The piece featured a high neckline and a pretty watercolour theme and Mathilde teamed it with a pair of wide-leg trousers and burgundy satin pumps.

The royal, who is most often seen in elegant skirt suits, might have been inspired by Meghan Markle, 36, who has so far favoured trousers for her public engagements. 

Boasting a flawless complexion, Mathilde opted for minimal make-up, adding just a touch of lipgloss and mascara. 

The mother-of-four wore her hair perfectly blow-dried in a bob, keeping her look understated with a pair of drop earrings and a delicate bracelet.

Stepping out of her chauffeur-driven car, Mathilde was greeted by member of the company and handed a pretty bouquet of flowers before heading inside. 

The royal soon moved onto participate in a round table on prevention of debt burden for young people and the tools that can be used to educate them.

Queen Mathilde has been married to King Phillipe of Belgium for 19 years, who ascended the throne following the abdication of his father, King Albert II, on 21 July 2013.

They are parents to Princess Elisabeth, 16, Prince Gabriel, 14, Prince Emmanuel, 12, and Princess Eleonore, nine.
