'She is very delicate': Selena Gomez is 'taking time to herself' after split from Justin Bieber... as insiders deny claims her mother was behind break-up

Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber are said to have gone their separate ways once more, after reconciling in October.

And it has been claimed the Hands To Myself hitmaker is 'taking time to herself' away from the spotlight in a bid to come to terms with the split and reconcile her relationship with her mother, who was blamed for the break-up.

A source told Entertainment Tonight the 25-year-old brunette beauty, who underwent a kidney transplant last year, was 'delicate' and the intense interest in her relationship with Sorry hitmaker Justin and her mother had affected her.

They said: 'Selena is very delicate; her 'comeback' to the spotlight has been tough - especially with the interest in her personal life with Justin and her mother. 

'She is taking time to herself. This is not the first time she has done this. 

'She wants to repair her relationship with her mother, that's a priority for her, too.' 

MailOnline has contacted Selena's representatives for comment. 

Though the Wizards Of Waverly Place star's mother Mandy Teefy was initially blamed for the split, other sources claim the couple 'have their own issues' and Selena's mom had nothing to do with her decision, according to People.

The insider insisted that Selena 'wouldn't base her relationship off of what her mom thinks,' adding that the couple have 'always been on and off.'  

They weren't ruling a reunion out, however. 

'They’ve been having disagreements, but it wouldn’t be surprising if they’re back together in a week,' the source continued.

Selena's mom Mandy expressed her disapproval in a statement to GossipCop.com earlier this year.

Speaking to the site in January, Teefy said she's 'not happy' with the relationship but that 'Selena can live her life however she wants as long as she is happy, safe and healthy.'  

Though People's source was adamant that Selena's mom had nothing to do with the break-up, another source close to the family told Us Weekly: 'Selena and Justin decided to take a break mainly because of Selena’s mom and her disapproval of Justin.

'Justin’s family loves Selena, but Selena’s family has put her in a very conflicting spot because they still don’t trust Justin. Selena has tried to convince her family that Justin has changed … but her family just isn’t budging right now.'
