Ant McPartlin charged with drink-driving after London crash

Ant McPartlin was charged with drink-driving this evening following his car crash on Sunday and will appear at Wimbeldon Magistrates Court in south west London on April 4. His charge comes after his TV co-host and best friend Declan Donnelly showed his support by visiting the star's home and announced on Twitter the last two episodes of Saturday Night Takeaway will go ahead without him. Dec arrived at Ant's £1.6million rented property in London (right) shortly after he came home from Kingston Police Station (left), where he spent one hour being interviewed under caution before being released under investigation. Dec was driven to the house in a black by Ant's usual driver, and went into the house for around 20 minutes before leaving again the same car. He took to Twitter beforehand to post an emotionally-charged statement admitting he 'never thought he'd be in this position' as he confirmed he would present the last two episodes of Saturday Night Takeaway alone on March 31. Friends say Ant has been hit 'hard' by his impending £60million divorce from his wife of 11 years Lisa Armstrong, and is set to enter rehab in light of his 'drink-drive' crash on Sunday (inset).

Dec, 42, (pictured today) admitted 'I never thought I'd be in this position' as he is set to appear on one of their TV shows without his co-star for the first time in their 20-year career.
