Adding height to her look, she slipped on a pair of Rupert Sanderson Malory Heels in stardust brocade, adorned with a gemstone.

Her blonde locks were slicked back from her face while her sparkling peepers were enhanced with feline flicks of liner and fluttery lashes.

The BAFTA nominee completed her make-up look with peachy blusher, highlighter and a slick of rose lipstick.

Vanessa is due to leave her acclaimed role in The Crown for the show's upcoming third series, with Oscar-nominee Helena Bonham Carter set to step into her regal role.

A number of the stars, including protagonists Claire Foy and Matt Smith, are being replaced by older actresses and actors for authenticity as the third season moves into the later years surrounding the royals' lives.

Vanessa admitted she was 'gutted' and she joked she was so 'desperate' to continue the role that she was willing to 'smoke a million cigarettes' to 'age' herself.

Shimmer in sequins like Vanessa wearing Erdem

The Crown's Vanessa Kirby made a red carpet appearance at the Empire Awards in shimmering style this week.

The actress appeared to dazzle in a look from the Erdem pre-fall 2018 collection that gave off dark and moody vibes mixed with feminine florals. The high neck floral top was matched with a multicoured sequin midi skirt that was further embellished with appliquéd flowers.

She sure made a very glittering statement and we love it. Sadly, the collection isn't available to buy but you can always rely on Erdem for any flower power your crave. Just click right to shop the designer at MATCHESFASHION.COM.

If you're after some A-list shimmer and shine to wow the crowd then we've got you covered. For alternatives on Vanessa's look that you can achieve yourself browse the edit below. From Victoria Beckham, Miss Selfridge and Coast there is something for every shape, style and budget!

'I was desperate to carry on,' she told The Telegraph in November 2017. 'I was like, 'Right, Peter Morgan, The Crown creator, what do you want me to do? I'll smoke a million cigarettes in real life, I'll do anything to age myself…

'I'm gutted. There hasn't been a part that's made me happier on-screen, and I really hope it has changed people's minds about her.'

The Netflix series – rumoured to have cost an estimated £100million for the first season alone – will be recast every two series as the central characters age.

According to The Evening Standard, recasting Vanessa, who played the part in the first two seasons, came in order to continue the story and timeline.

The award-winning star was being eyed up to play Elizabeth in the show following the departure of Claire Foy but bosses decided she'd be better suited to Margaret while Olivia Colman will play the matriarch.

Following the red carpet, Vanessa took to the stage during the ceremony to accept Best TV Series for The Crown, which she admitted to nearly missing as she took a visit to the bathroom.

She said: 'I nearly missed this because I was in the loo,' before going onto say about the acclaimed drama: 'I genuinely thought my gran would watch it and that would be it.'
