You want ANOTHER Piece Of Me? Britney Spears' ex-husband Kevin Federline 'begs for more than $20k-a-MONTH in child support'... after seeing her success in Las Vegas
She reportedly agreed to pay him $1.3 million when they divorced in 2007, as well as $20k-a-month in child support when she lost physical custody of their sons in 2008.
But Kevin Federline has reportedly approached Britney Spears' father Jamie for more money, in light of her recent tour success, because he can no longer 'keep up' with the life she gives their two sons, Sean, 12, and Jayden, 11, at weekends.
According to TMZ, lawyers for the 39-year-old former back-up dancer and rapper known as K-Fed sent a letter requesting that the sum he is given for be reconsidered.
More, more, more: Britney Spears' ex-husband Kevin Federline (here together in 2005) has reportedly requested that she review her $20k-a-month child support payments to him, for the care of their two sons Sean, 12, and Jayden, 11
However, Kevin's lawyers were reportedly unable to explain why the children needed more than $20k, raising suspicions about where the money was being spent.
It's believed that Kevin could no longer care for the children 'at Britney's level' and there argument paid particular reference to the revenue she is taking from her Las Vegas shows.
The Piece Of Me show has reportedly grossed over $137 million over the course of its four year run.
Protective: Britney's children Sean, 12, and Jayden, 11 are her 'entire world,' friends say but Kevin can no longer keep up with the type of lifestyle she gives them
Another Piece Of Me: Kevin's request has reportedly been prompted by Britney's successful Las Vegas residency (here in 2016), which grossed over $137 million
Britney suffered a very public breakdown back in 2008, which resulted in the Toxic songstress losing sole physical and legal custody of her sons, and Kevin was reportedly drawing on this in his argument.
In February, Life & Style claimed that musician Britney was still fighting to regain custody of the children.
'Britney always dreamed of the day she would get her kids back, and finally she’s taking a step in that direction,' a source told the publication.
'She’s told her family she wants the boys home with her for the summer, while they’re off from school. She wants to bring them with her wherever she goes.'
But the source explained that this was a hard period for Kevin to adjust to.
'Britney has always been a weekend mom, so this would be a major change for him,' the source continued.
It was previously reported in February, by UsWeekly, that Kevin was making 'outrageous' demands, and that Britney would leave it to her father to continue the negotiations.
'Kevin has always been supportive of Britney's recovery and has always recognized what a great mother she has been,' a source told the publication.
The source added: 'Britney's entire world are the boys, period. She just lights up when she is with them.'
'[He asked that Britney] recognize the sacrifices he has made because he has gone above and beyond what most people would do in this situation.'
Britney and Kevin married in October 2004, but they separated three years later after welcoming two children.
Britney filed for divorce just two months after welcoming their second child in 2006.
Reflecting on the judge's move to revoke Britney's care of the children 10 years ago, Kevin said things didn't turn out as he expected.
'All I was trying to do was get 50/50 custody,' he told Entertainment Tonight in 2016, adding: 'But now, none of that matters. Everything is cool. Both of us have moved on, our kids are doing great.'
Calling their agreed child support 'not something to brag about,' he continued in the chat: 'It's not something that I asked for either. It's all about the kids. That's what it's for...
'They're supposed to be able to live a life that they're accustomed to. If the shoe was on the other foot, I'd be in those shoes. Smiling and being full-willing.'
Kevin has six children in total. He has two children with ex Shar Jackson and two with his wife, Victoria Prince.
Agreement: Kevin and Britney agreed on a settlement in 2008, when she lost custody of the children
