Graeme Colin Evans punched north Queensland mum Leeann Lapham (pictured) with such force he felt her skull give way. Immediately afterwards, he went outside for a cigarette. When he returned 20 minutes later to the Innisfail hotel room where the pair were staying with their three-week-old son, he realised she was dead. Evans appeared in the Townsville Supreme Court on Wednesday where he was sentenced to nine years' jail for Ms Lapham's manslaughter in 2010.

A woman who punched a Brisbane bus driver in the face in a dispute over a fare is being sought by police. Security camera footage of the attack has been released in a bid to identify the woman. Police say in December two women boarded a bus in Spring Hill and argued with the driver for about 45 seconds before alighting.

And on Wednesday's Married At First Sight, the truth was finally exposed as Dean Wells revealed that ex-'wife' Tracey Jewel had been sexting him behind new boyfriend Sean Thomsen's back. Angela Blunt from Barney Martin in Darlinghurst explained that most of their clients don't use the oil and prefer a salon-style treatment instead. 'It's better for straighter hair and not too thick hair because those strands aren't quite as porous,' she said. Officer Mohamed Noor, 32, turned himself in Tuesday morning and is held on murder and manslaughter charges for gunning down 40-year-old Justine Damond on July 15. He shot Justine in the stomach when she approached his squad car minutes after she called police to report a possible sexual assault in the alley behind her home.

A confused kangaroo was spotted displaying bizarre behaviour with a flagpole on a golf course in Queensland. The roo tried to catch the flag in it's paws after a mid-air fist-fight but when he knew he was being watched he gave up and hopped away. The strange behaviour might be due to kangaroo mating season.

A man has nearly got his face burnt as he attempted to replace a phone battery in a shop in China. According to the shop owner, the man walked into his shop with a battery he bought online and borrowed a pair of tweezers to open the mobile phone case before it shot out fire. Footage emerged showing the man and other customers bolting out of the shop as the phone exploded.

A home in country Victoria has been buried in a swarm of 'hairy panic', a wispy grass (left and right) otherwise known as tumbleweed. Owners of a property in Laceby, Wangaratta, arrived home from a seven-week holiday to find masses of the native grass covering every inch of their front and backyard. The tumbleweed was so dense it forced the closure of a major road outside the home and owner Leanne Gloury (left) said she couldn't even get through her own front door. The sea of 'hairy panic' also blocked Ms Gloury from her driveway and buried the woman's two dogs, who were present when the tumbleweed first invaded the home.

A mansion in Melbourne's affluent Toorak sold for $11.5million to a local couple with two children who 'just loved the grandeur' of the house. Real estate agent Oliver Booth said families are willing to spend 'well over $20 million' on homes in the area and there is not enough available housing to meet the demand.

Dawber says she was 'flashed, humped, bumped, grabbed' by Williams on the set. Other times the comedian would grab Dawber's bottom or her breasts simply because he was 'bored.' But the actress admits she never took offense to his behavior because Wiliams was so charming. UK-based blogger Carolyn Stritch posted a snap of herself ahead of the make believe trip - explaining how she was going to California for her 22nd birthday (left). An unmarried couple accused of being promiscuous had sewage water dumped on their heads as a humiliating punishment in Indonesia. The young man and his girlfriend were accused of being alone together in a room despite being unwed – something forbidden by Sharia law. They were dragged out in the street in the village of Kayee Lee in Aceh, on the island of Sumatra, on March 7 and forced in front of a sewer drain while waste was dumped on their heads, according to France24.

A video of the sleepy worker was uploaded to Facebook group Humans of Bankstown on Thursday. The footage was filmed by a co-worker and appears to show the man asleep behind the wheel of an excavator. The man can be seen with his head tilted and eyes shut (even with jack hammering going on in the background) before he blinks and realises he's being filmed. He smiles and buries his head in his hands.

This little bear cub looks delighted to see the arrival of spring as he appears to give the warmer weather a round of a-PAWS. The youngster put on quite the display for photographer Barrett Hedges, in Lake Clark National Park, Alaska.  The set of images show the bear cub appearing to play peek-a-boo with Barrett, dancing a jig and even leaping from his mothers back.

A monkey with 'a man's face' has wowed social media users in China these days. Footage of the human-looking primate went viral as astonished web users said the eyes and mouth resembled a lot like human. The monkey, staying in a zoo in north-east China, shows a frantic expression as it looked into the camera.

A tired koala has been filmed knocking on the glass sliding doors of a seaside resort reception in Victoria. The adorable marsupial was spotted nudging at the glass door for a late-night check-in at RACV resort in Inverloch, south-east of Melbourne. Resting his nose at the entrance, the furry friend appears to glance inside looking for a staff member to let him through.
