Great Food Choices at UC Davis

You will find right away that food is tasty at UC Davis. And, just steps off of campus are many more dining options in downtown Davis.

Our award-winning residential dining commons offers a delicious array of choices to suit all tastes, including vegan and vegetarian entrees. The food is so good that students living off campus Join the Club so they can regularly dine in one of our three dining commons. (Note that separate rates apply to residential and off-campus students.)

Many eateries across the campus

You can also find eateries across campus including those at the Silo, Coffee House and Student Community Center. And you can catch a quick bite at one of the many food trucks on your way to class.

Often students use Aggie Cash as an easy way to pay for campus food. It’s convenient, easy to use and saves you money at select dining locations: You can either load funds online or pay for it at our Meal Card Office.

People in Davis get a treat every week: Our Davis Farmers Market is continually voted among USA Today’s top 10 in the U.S. The market located in Central Park runs 8 a.m.-1 p.m. every Saturday during the year and 4:30-8:30 p.m. on Wednesdays mid-March through October.

Our campus runs the UC Davis Farmers Market 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Wednesdays during fall and spring quarters. 

Walk downtown for great dining

When you walk or bike into downtown, you’ll find that Davis has fewer chain establishments than you might expect among the nearly 100 eateries.  The dining experience is casual and relaxed, and our merchants are welcoming to students. You might even find yourself taking part in one of the trivia nights as part of your downtown dining experience.

Eating healthy at home

If you have a kitchen to yourself for the first time or have dietary needs that seem daunting, free cooking classes taught by a chef at our Teaching Kitchen will help you master the skills necessary for good nutrition. The demonstrations and hands-on classes are just one way the Food Connection and UC Davis set you up for optimal wellness and safety as a student.
