Colin and Livia Firth put on a united front at Swiss press conference as the couple make their first public appearance since she admitted to 11-month affair with man she later accused of stalking her
A press conference served as the backdrop for Colin Firth’s first public appearance with wife Livia since news of her 11-month affair with the man she later accused of stalking her emerged.
The couple were joined by American actress Julianne Moore while attending watch and jewellery fair Basleworld 2018 in Basel, Switzerland on Thursday evening.
Drafted in to add a touch of Hollywood glamour to a series of new product launches, Oscar-winner Colin looked morose as he fielded questions after taking to the stage on behalf of high-end brand Chopard.

Firth and Livia, who hosted the event, have been long-standing advocates of the Swiss watch and jewellery maker’s long-standing commitment to environmental sustainability.
It was their first public appearance since Livia, an Oxfam global ambassador and CEO of environmentally friendly brand Eco Age Limited, alleged she was ‘living in fear’ after receiving a series of threatening texts and calls from Italian journalist Marco Brancaccia.
Brancaccia was also accused of emailing photographs of Livia to Firth, which prompted the actor to take legal action through the Italian courts.

In an astonishing twist he himself stepped into the fray, publicly refuting claims that he was a stalker and, in effect, forcing Livia to admit that they had embarked on an affair in 2015.
Brancaccia told the Daily Mail their relationship began after a family party at the Firths' home in Umbria, Northern Italy, in the summer of 2015 and that at the time Livia had wanted to divorce her famous Oscar-winning husband.
'I fell in love completely with Livia. I felt she was the woman of my life. I loved her very much, very much,' he said, adding that accusations of stalking are 'rubbish' and that the real story is that of 'a famous couple trying to cover up her love affair'.
