Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, the actress said she doesn't believe a woman should pick up where Daniel will leave off, but should instead 'get their own stories'
'Why not create your own story rather than jumping on to the shoulders and being compared to all those other male predecessors?
'Women are really fascinating and interesting and should get their own stories,'the star continued.
Discussing the heated debate, Rachel also applauded Bond author Ian Fleming for his work on the wildly successful lothario spy, having spent years crafting the character.
She said: (Fleming) devoted an awful lot of time to writing this particular character, who is particularly male and relates in a particular way to women'.
