It's a fairytale come true for the Markle family to see Meghan marry her Prince - but not all of them will be there to witness it in person.

Invitations to the royal wedding on May 19 were sent out to some 600 guests last week, but Meghan's nephew Tyler Dooley and his mother Tracy told Good Morning Britain on Monday they had not received one.

The pair appeared via live video link from Oregon, US, and admitted that while they were still hopeful that invitations might be en route, it was looking extremely unlikely.

Tyler said on the show: ‘We’ve not got anything yet. At this point, who knows? This all goes back to Meghan, it’s her day and her happiness.’

Tracy - who was married to Meghan's half brother Thomas Markle Jr, is mother to Tyler and his brother Thomas, who Meghan used to babysit for as a child - added: ‘I don’t think we are getting invitations, but that is fine, we are so proud of her.’

She said that while she herself hadn't seen the royal bride-to-be in some 20 years, the family still has a close relationship with her father, Thomas Markle, who she said was 'sure' to give Meghan away when she marries Prince Harry at Windsor Castle on May 19.

‘With her being an actress, that was exciting, but this is a fairy tale come true for him. He loves her to death,' Tracy said.

Tyler, who said he had last spoken to Meghan three years ago, explained that it was down to Meghan who she invited to her wedding, and added that it was a huge 'honour' that his relative was set to become a part of the British royal family.

Asked if Meghan's father, Thomas, would walk his daughter down the aisle at the wedding at St George's Chapel, Tracy said she was sure 'plans were in place'.

'I've heard that he's going to be over there and I'm sure that he will be giving her away. The arrangements are being made...

'I don't think he's waiting for his invitation, because I'm sure they already have the plans in place, and for me talking to him, he's very excited to be a part of it.'

While they've missed out on a coveted invite to the ceremony itself, it was announced that Tracey and Tyler will be flying over to the UK to be a part of Good Morning Britain's coverage of the Royal wedding, and will be in situ at Windsor Castle.

Their appearance on Monday's GMB comes after never-before-seen footage of a nine-year-old Meghan showing off her babysitting skills while looking after her little nephew was revealed for the first time.

The family shared footage of a shy Meghan playfully protesting at being recorded caring for her newborn nephew, the son of her half-brother Thomas Jr.

Thomas Jr made headlines around the world a year ago after he was arrested following an alcohol-fuelled incident with his girlfriend involving a gun.

Speaking about the controversy surrounding Meghan's extended family, Tyler said at the time: 'A lot’s been written about our family.

'The only thing that came of this is it strengthened our relationship with some family members that we lost contact with.

'People go through their path in life and fall out of contact and all this has done has put a spotlight on our family, the good and the bad. It’s definitely been a ride.'

During the interview, Tracy described her ex father-in-law and Meghan's father, Thomas, as a 'wonderful' man.

'I can’t speak highly enough about him,' she said. 'He obviously did a great job of raising her and raising the rest of his family too.

'We all make our choices in life and he afforded all the possibilities and different avenues to grow and what paths they take from there is up to them.

'She’s taken the high road and had lots of opportunities and chose to follow her path and destiny so we are thrilled, and so is he.'
