The Mummy Diaries' Sam Faiers defends decision to sleep separately to boyfriend Paul Knightley as she brushes off THAT cheese on toast row

She admitted she has stopped sharing a bed with boyfriend Paul Knightley since welcoming their second child.

And Sam Faiers explained her decision to ban bedtime cuddles with her partner during her appearance on Lorraine on Wednesday, where she was also joined by her sister Billie.

The 27-year-old reality star also revealed how she really felt about the row she had with Paul over under-cooked cheese on toast during last week's episode of The Mummy Diaries, an argument that riled up more than a few viewers.

Elaborating on why she chooses to sleep separately from the father of her two children, Sam confessed: 'We are [sleeping separately], yeah. Anything for sleep, we’re like, right let’s do it. I co-sleep with Rosie and Paul sleeps with baby Paul.

'But we’re all getting sleep in our house. There was a story that I’ve kicked Paul out of bed for three years.

'That’s not entirely true. But as long as it takes until the kids are both sleeping through the night, well Paul is, but Rosie, then we’ll be alright. Big Paul is...'

Viewers of last Wednesday's episode saw Sam ask Paul how long he thought it'd be until they share a bed again, she quizzed: 'So how long do you think it's going to be until we're back in the same bed?

'I estimate about three years. I miss cuddling you in bed, it feels weird don't you think?'

Paul then answered frankly: 'Once Rosie goes through the night, you can get back in with us'.

The explanation came mere moments before Sam defended Paul after he was blasted by The Mummy Diaries viewers for slamming the former TOWIE star's cheese on toast as she attempted to cook her partner and their son Paul a quick snack.

She said: 'Paul is so great actually in the household, in terms of handyman jobs and he's amazing with the kids.

'When it comes to cooking, he says I’ll do anything for you, but he can't do the cooking.'

But while their cheese on toast argument looked a little intense, clothing designer Sam insisted she laughs about it - though Paul - who held their baby daughter Rosie during the interview - still hasn't seen the funny side.

She dished: 'Cheese on toast gate was quite funny. We actually got sent a hamper of bread and cheese as a joke. I couldn't stop laughing but he said, "that's not funny", and I said it is.'
