A 61-year-old woman protesting police brutality at a demonstration in Sacramento was hit by a deputy in a squad car on Saturday night. A shocking video (center) shows Wanda Cleveland being struck by the vehicle, and she can be seen on the ground in photographs (left and right) taken after the impact. The extent of her injuries are not known. Witnesses say the deputy who hit Cleveland did not stay around to see if she was alright and simply drove away. The protest started as a vigil for Stephon Clark (inset), a 22-year-old unarmed black man who was fatally shot by Sacramento police on March 18. An autopsy released on Friday revealed he had been shoot seven times in the back. 

South Carolina school counselor, 25, admits to having a sexual relationship with a student

Kenleigh Prendergast, 25, (pictured) had only been at Spartanburg Day School in South Carolina for five months when she is said to have started the inappropriate relationship with a pupil 'aged 16 or 17' in January this year. The counselor said the attachment ended several days before she was reported to police on March 25. She was interviewed on March 30 and confessed to communicating with the student via text, calls or FaceTime during and after school hours. Prendergast was taken to the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office Detention facility and charged with sexual battery with a student aged 16 or 17 with no aggravated force or coercion.

He is sore in part because its founder, Jeff Bezos (left) owns The Washington Post, which Trump has labeled 'fake news' after the newspaper reported unfavorable developments during his campaign and presidency.

Stephen Hawking's family said their final goodbyes today, as thousands lined the streets of Cambridge for the funeral of the renowned theoretical physicist, who died peacefully at his home earlier this month. Although Prof Hawking (inset) identified as an atheist, his family, including ex wife Jane Hawking, son Timothy Hawking and daughter Lucy Hawking, felt a traditional Anglican service would give his many friends in the city a chance to pay tribute to him. A motorist caught a daredevil bike rider catching a high speed ride while holding onto the back of a semi truck that was driving down a California highway. The video, which was taken on Wednesday, shows a black-clad cyclist hanging onto the back of a Knight Transportation refrigerated truck with his left hand. The cyclist, who sports dark sunglasses and a backpack, appears nonchalant despite the fact that he is traveling as much as 55mph on a highway, without a helmet or any other protective gear.
