Come LIE with me! 'Rude' Air Asia passenger sparks pre-take off fury by 'upgrading herself' to premium seats then lying across the entire row

  • Woman sparks fury after taking row of premium seats on Air Asia flight
  • Economy flyer was told by cabin crew on the four hour flight to go back to seat
  • Video shows outraged premium flyer yell at her to return to seat she booked

A woman has sparked a row on an Air Asia flight after 'upgrading herself' to premium seats.

The middle-aged women angered air passengers when she lay across a whole row of premium seats on the plane before take-off.

The flyer had booked standard seats on the flight, lasting four hours, from Kuala Lumpur to Hong Kong in late March.

But just before take-off she moved from her seat to a row of priority seats which carry an extra charge of £27 for having more leg room and often being empty.

The woman was asked by cabin crew to move back to her seat before take-off when premium flyer Bruce Lam, who was sitting across the aisle, asked her to move before she kicked up a fuss - and spent 'four or five minutes' arguing with the crew.

Bruce said the woman briefly returned to her own seat before returning twice after take-off and trying to sit in the upgraded position again - laying down on her head pillow and playing on her phone.

It was only when the passenger lost his temper and began yelling at the woman that she eventually returned to her booked position for the the rest of the flight onboard the Airbus A320.

Bruce said: 'We paid extra for our tickets. When the plane took off, a middle-aged woman walked from her standard seat to the empty, premium seats behind me.

'Staff quickly asked the lady to return to her seat and indicated that she could not arbitrarily adjust. The woman said angrily 'why?'.

'She was told there is an extra fee for those areas and it took four to five minutes for the woman to return to her own seat.'

Red hot seats aboard AirAsia flights carry a slight premium, which varies according to the booking platform used.

Bruce said his seats cost around £27 more than standard seats.

The woman only went back to her own seat when another passenger began yelling at her, telling her she had an 'ugly attitude'.

The woman eventually got up and went back to her seat and stayed there for the rest of teh duration of the flight

Bruce added: 'After take-off, the lady once again came to the seat behind me. She refused to get up again. After five minutes arguing she returned for a second time.

'Then, a few minutes later, the woman walked behind me for the third time. A flight attendant asked the middle-aged woman to return and said it is not fair to others.

'I do not know if the flight attendants were too gentle and polite, but the woman had a bad attitude more than before. She was abusive and angry.

'About ten minutes later, the flight attendant walked to my side and said in Chinese: 'Thank you, we often encounter these rude guests.'
