As part of one of the most watched shows on TV, the cast of Coronation Street have amassed millions of fans who watch the soap day in day out.

But one Corrie star, 38, has hit out at one fan for taking their love for the cast too far - by doing something she called 'completely inappropriate'.

Taking to Twitter to vent her frustration, Georgia Taylor, who plays Toyah Battersby in the ITV soap, revealed how she was asked for a selfie as she queued at her doctors' reception.

To make matters worse, the fan even called Georgia 'rude' for declining to take the picture.

Taking to the app on Tuesday morning, Georgia posted: 'Since when was it deemed acceptable to ask for selfies in the doctors reception?

'You have no idea what I'm here for and it's completely inappropriate, but apparently I'M the "rude" one for saying no...'

Clearly frustrated by the encounter, the actress finished her tweet with the eye-roll emoji.

MailOnline has contacted representatives for Georgia and is awaiting comment.

Kym Marsh, who plays Michelle Connor, also replied to the tweet, saying 'Oh good god! xx'

Fans flooded Georgia's Twitter page with messages of support, with many telling her she was right to refuse the snap.
