  • Shay, 30, has been posting sight-seeing photos to her Instagram while on vacation in China
  • One photo she posted to her story shows the Monster Building complex in Hong Kong which she captioned: 'night views' but there is a cursor in the photo
  • To the left hand side in the middle of her photo there is a black arrow cursor from a computer mouse and the original photo was found on Canon's travel blog
  • There have since been other photos she posted taken from other sources without credit and altered with filters

Pretty Little Liars star Shay Mitchell is being accused of faking her Instagram photos while on a trip to Hong Kong.

The 30-year-old has become popular for always posting travel photos to her page calling her vacations, #Shaycations, but after some digging people have found the original photos of the ones she's posting.

Shay posted a photo of the Monster Building in Hong Kong to her Instagram story with the caption: 'Night views,' but StyleCaster was quick to notice that the photo was actually taken from the internet and there was a huge clue on the photo.

Coincidence? Shay Mitchell is being accused of faking her Instagram photos while on a trip to Hong Kong specifically this photo she posted to her story writing: 'Night views'

Confused: The 30-year-old has not tagged any credits in any of the photos she has been posting

The picture she posted was pointing up at the sky with the Monster Building complex in the Quarry Bay area surrounding the camera.

At first glance the picture looks a little foggy but StyleCaster pointed out the little black arrow cursor from a computer mouse in the middle left part of the photo.

After researching where the picture originated they found the original on a travel blog from camera company Canon.

The only difference between Shay's photo and the Canon photo is that Shay put a filter on her picture.

This prompted further digging into her Hong Kong photos and it's shocking how many photos are taken from others and passed off as her own.

One example is a photo Shay posted of the Jingan Temple in Shanghai where she even tagged the location saying she was there.

The photo sees the famous 780-year-old Buddhist temple with tourists surrounding it and one particular person that stands out in the photo is a woman in a yellow coat.

Although the exact photographer of the photo is unknown it was first found on Instagram account Shanghai-Bund Musical posted back in 2016.

The only differences between the photos was again being Shay's lighter filter and the woman in the yellow coat is in the exact same position in both photos.

Since then, Shay has also posted a photo of a wooden door and entryway of Yu Garden in Shanghai captioning the photo, 'SHANGHAI.'

Shay's photo is cropped and zoomed in with a light filter on it however the real photo as seen on the Pullman Hotels website and travel booking website Isangoo! is exactly the same but zoomed out.

In the original photo the doorway is zoomed out with a tree covering the top of the door and plants surrounding either side.

Meanwhile, in Shay's photo the exact same tree can be seen covering the top of the door.

Another photo she posted was of the Terracotta Warriors in the ancient city of Xi'An in China captioned: 'Terracotta Army : Xi'an.'

Traveler: Shay is in fact in China and has since posted to her story a pic of her on a plane, a photo of her suitcase at the Shanghai airport and a video of the view from her hotel room

The real photo was not taken by her and can be seen on the My Little Adventure website to promote tours.

It got a bit crazier when she posted another photo of pastel pink and blue buildings with the caption: 'When buildings inspire your next nail polish change #pastels #ShaycationHongKong.'

However, the original photo was taken by photographer Jan Vranovsky in 2014 not even in China but in Akihabara, Tokyo, Japan.

Despite the fact that Shay may be taking other people's photos, she is in fact in China and has since posted to her Instagram story.

She has posted a photo of her on a plane, a photo of her suitcase at the Shanghai airport and a video of the view from her hotel room window where you can hear her speaking into the camera.

Shay does travel often and has actually been pictured in her photos from vacation before which is why it's unsure why she's posting photos that aren't her own.
