Poor Edwina Bartholomew can't take a trick. 

The  Sunrise's entertainment reporter had somewhat of a bumbling interview with 47-year-old Real Housewives Of New York star Bethenny Frankel during Tuesday's program.

The live interview provided plenty of awkward moments, with audio difficulties, delayed responses and nervous laughter by Edwina, 34.

Struggling to hear anything the Channel Seven journalist was asking, Bethenny was at a loss, declaring: 'I'm having a really challenging time hearing you right now. It's very staticky.'

The entrepreneur and author continued: 'So I heard you say "10 years on television", I'll just talk....I can't hear you. I can't hear anything!'

Clearly embarrassed, Edwina let out a nervous laugh and allowed Bethenny to say whatever she liked.

Bethenny is currently in Australia to promote the 10th season of The Real Housewives of New York, on Hayu and Foxtel.

And during an interview with The Daily Telegraph on Monday, the mother-of-one shed light on why she believes The Real Housewives of New York City is such a success.   

'It's a telenovela. It's seriously a soap opera every day. The storylines get more and more dramatic. You couldn't write what we go through,' she said.   

While Bethenny is in Sydney, her co-stars Ramona Singer, Dorinda Medley, Luann de Lesseps, Carole Radziwill, Sonja Morgan and Tinsley Mortimer attended the official series launch party at Seville in The James Hotel, New York, on Thursday.

Her ex-BFF Carole Radziwill spoke to Dailymail.com on the red carpet, shedding light on their surprising rift, which is set to play out during season 10.

'Bethenny and I have a few moments that are really uncomfortable and difficult,' Carole said.   

She continued: 'I've known her for three years, our friendship is a real friendship that was on lots of different levels and that's not over it's just changed a little bit.  

'You'll see in the course of the season you know what happens, what gets said, what doesn't get said that results in shifts in friendships.'
