'The memories I have with you will never fade,' she wrote on Facebook.

'Thank you for teaching me things in life, I'll cherish them forever, you taught me how to drive manual [and] tow a trailer and you were there for me when I needed you.

'You were truly one of a kind, and it breaks my heart knowing this has come to an end.

'You didn't deserve this uncle Jason, but I hope you're resting in peace we will meet again some day.'

'Detectives believe the blue VT Holden Commodore containing the body had been moved during the past week and was not consistently in the same location,' a spokesperson said.

A friend said Mr Fry had made an unusual request before he died, The Herald Sun reported.

'It was only a couple of weeks ago he texted me needing a few dollars. I gave him what I had, which wasn't much,' the man said.

'I thought it was strange when he asked but I didn't question him. I did ask him if everything was all right. He sort of brushed me off with "nah not really, but all good".'

Friends said they were concerned about Mr Fry, who they said had been selling his things and asking for money.
