DailyMailTV's Jesse Palmer tapped as host for new ABC dating show from The Bachelor creator

He was The Bachelor in the fifth season of ABC's hit reality TV series. 

And now DailyMailTV host Jesse Palmer is going to be hosting The Proposal, the network's new dating show.

The 39-year-old former NFL star was the first professional athlete to star on the high rating reality series back in 2004.

The new series from Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss 'will feature 10 eligible daters competing in four pageant-style rounds to win the heart of a mystery suitor or “suitress,"' according to Deadline.

Contestants are eliminated until 'the final two meet the mystery suitor for the first [time] and propose.' 

The show is set to premiere this summer.

Jesse's other show, DailyMailTV, has been nominated for two Daytime Emmys in its first year on the air.

The series has been nominated for Outstanding Entertainment News Program and Outstanding Directing in a Talk Show/Entertainment News /Morning Program.

In the Entertainment News category, fellow nominees are Access Hollywood, E News, Entertainment Tonight and Extra.

In the directing category, the other nominees are Harry, Pickler and Ben, Rachael Ray and The Real SY.

The nominees were announced on The Talk on CBS on Wednesday afternoon, six weeks before the April 29 awards ceremony.

Since launching in September 17, DailyMailTV has been renewed for a second season.
