Netflix picks up Barbie Dreamhouse Adventures in the United States
Mattel is set to debut the new Barbie Dreamhouse Adventures CG-animated series on Netflix in the United States. The new show will be animated by Mainframe Studios, the TV branch of Rainmaker Entertainment. The company’s relationship with Barbie goes back, having produced more than 30 features over the last 17 years. Here’s a trailer:
This hilarious and heartwarming new show follows the everyday life of Barbie as she embarks upon exciting adventures with her family and friends—including Ken! From fun road trips to sister shenanigans, Barbie discovers that with a little bit of help and a whole lot of laughter, you can be anything!
The show will consist of 26×22 minute episodes and is described as being an episodic sitcom aimed at audiences 5 to 11. Fans will get to see Barbie and her sisters, Chelsea, Stacie and Skipper take on adventures in Malibu to escapades around the globe.
Barbie Dreamhouse Adventures will debut on Netflix in the United States on May 3rd. The show’s rollout will be regional, with local broadcasters open to airing the show.
