A star of the highly rated Lethal Weapon reboot on Fox has apologized after it was reported that he has faced disciplinary action for behavior on set that some characterize as ‘emotional abuse’ and ‘creating a hostile work environment.’
Clayne Crawford, who plays Martin Riggs in the action-comedy series which also stars Damon Wayans, has reportedly been so difficult to deal with on set that actors and crew are uncomfortable working with him.
The situation has deteriorated to the point where network executives are considering a replacement for Crawford, Deadline reported.
It is believed that many involved with the show have already communicated to studio executives that they do not wish to work with Crawford going forward, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Lethal Weapon is the television reboot of the original movie franchise, which stars Mel Gibson and Danny Glover.

Wayans plays the character made famous by Glover, Roger Murtaugh, who along with Riggs is a star LAPD detective.
The show, which was renewed for a second season, has been a ratings success. But the turmoil surrounding Crawford is putting the show’s future in doubt.
Lethal Weapon is the second-most watched drama on Fox, behind the hit series Empire.
Warner Bros TV, which produces the show, and the Fox network both declined comment on the matter.
Crawford posted an apology on his official Instagram page on Tuesday.
He acknowledged that he was reprimanded for at least two incidents on set.

Crawford writes that one of his outbursts was in response to what he felt were poor working conditions on set.
He writes that the incident resulted in him agreeing to therapy and to sharing a ‘sizable portion’ of his paycheck with one of the people involved in the dispute - both at the request of the studio.
A second incident was precipitated by another actor on set who felt unsafe after a piece of shrapnel from an effect hit him.
‘I absolutely love, respect and care for my crew and cast, and would never intentionally jeopardize so many jobs,’ Crawford writes.
‘I am incredibly sorry if my passion for doing good work has ever made anyone feel less than comfortable on our set, or feel less than celebrated for their efforts.
‘Furthermore, I apologize to all the crew and cast for any negative attention Lethal Weapon is receiving because of these incidents.’
