And to ensure viewers tune in, the show will bring on board its first celebrity guest in singer Adam Lambert. 

The former American Idol 2009 runner-up is now a worldwide success, and he will drop in to give Boy George's team a boost.

 'My friend Adam just happened to be in town doing sellout concerts with Queen,' George told his team members. 

'He knows what (you) are going through because he's been in a similar situation,' he added, addressing his 12 hopefuls. 

Adam had some advice for the contestants, with the unique artists encouraging everyone to just be themselves.  

The singer has gone from strength to strength since his own run on a singing competition reality show.

In 2009 he released his debut album, For Your Entertainment, which reached number three on the U.S. Billboard 200 charts.   

Then in 2012, his second studio album, Trespassing hit number one on the U.S. Billboard 200, making him the first openly gay artist to top the chart.  

The raven-haired singer continued his success by reaching number three on the U.S. Billboard 200 with his third album, The Original High, in 2015.
