Chris Brown's friend accused of rape says Gloria Allred's exploiting accuser for money and publicity

The man accused of twice raping a woman at a bash at Chris Brown's Tarzana, California home last year denies he did it, and feels Gloria Allred is exploiting the woman for publicity.

Lowell Grissom Jr.'s lawyer Anthony Willoughby on Thursday told TMZ that his client 'vehemently denies these false and defaming accusations [that] originated last year, ending with no arrests, no proof, an inconclusive rape kit and after a police investigation,' adding that there were 'no charges filed' in the incident.

'This civil lawsuit is a blatant attempt at a money grab and to harm the reputation of my client while encouraging PR noise for Gloria Allred while she exploits this young woman for her own financial gains and public persona,' Willoughby said.

Grissom was accused by Allred's client of sexually assaulting the woman near a bathroom, and again in a laundry room, at the 28-year-old Grammy winner's mansion.

'This civil lawsuit is a blatant attempt at a money grab and to harm the reputation of my client while encouraging PR noise for Gloria Allred while she exploits this young woman for her own financial gains and public persona.'

Willoughby told the outlet he was confident that Grissom Jr. would prevail in the lawsuit, in which he and Brown are accused of sexual battery, gender violence, battery, assault, hate violence, intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligence.

Elsewhere, the Los Angeles District Attorney said that the Los Angeles Police Department has not formally presented them with the case, according to The Blast, adding that they continue to work with police on the matter.

Grissom's accuser, referred to as Jane Doe in court docs, said the incident occurred following an outing at the club 1Oak in February 2017.

Doe said in court docs that Brown - who was convicted of felony assault in his 2009 attack on ex-girlfriend Rihanna - gave her and her friends drugs including Molly and cocaine at the heavily-armed home.

She said Brown, with a gun in his waistband, made Grissom 'push a couch in front of the bedroom door' so no one could depart, and then put on porn to 'create a hyper-sexualized' prior to stripping down and having sex with female guests.

Doe told the court she and her friend were blocked from leaving the room, at which point they were sexually assaulted by Grissom and a woman who was there. Doe said she eventually left the home and was subsequently treated at a rape center, reporting the incident to authorities.

Doe 'filed this lawsuit because she wants justice for herself, but she also wants to warn other young women about the potential danger to themselves if they have their phone taken away and if they go to Chris Brown’s house,' according to Allred.
