5++ wow-stacular stars.

A stunning romance that had me entranced throughout with L.H.’s lyrical writing, full of beautiful descriptions, intense and strong characters and a plot with an almost musical flow that stole my heart. It’s a wonderful combination of fun adventure, moving heartbreak and sweet sexy romance.
“Jack”
“Lille?”
“You’re kind of beautiful, you know that?”

Suffocating under her overbearing mother’s rule, Lille dreams of freedom. She’s compiled a list of things to do where adventure is the main theme. She only needs a way out.

When opportunity comes to dine at her workplace in the form of The Circus Spektaulär’s ring master asking her to join them, Lille hesitates but for a second before packing up her belongings and running away with them.

Jack McCabe is Circus Spektakulär’s sexy and captivating knife thrower and fire eater. He’s also set on not having Lille come along with them convinced that his lifestyle is not safe for her.

His tragic, sad, painful past has not only left him with scars visible to the naked eye, but also deep seated ones which have shaped his life and forced him to trust no one. Pushed him to build layers of impenetrable shields around his heart. Until “Jack met Lille on a hill and crossed as sea of water.”

But Lille’s incredibly caring and honest nature, and her determination to be his friend doesn’t just dent Jack’s high walls, she shatters them in an achingly sweet, slow and sultry push and pull dance. They started out as friends, but their mutual attraction is impossible to ignore and together with the stunning connection they form, their love sizzles and leaps off the page.
“Somehow, by joining our bodies, we lit each other up.”

There are very many things I loved about Hearts of Fire. I don’t think I can get to tell you about them all before this review gets to be too long. I was mesmerized with every single word, the plot, the characters, the brilliant imagery, Lille’s list and Jack’s magnetic personality.
“He had this aura, though, like you couldn’t tell if he was human or a supernatural being wearing human skin.”

One element in particular was L.H.’s creative way of adapting the well-known Jack and Jill nursery rhyme into a beautiful summation of the main character’s story gradually revealing it as each of the chapter’s titles which put together I felt just like Lille...
“my heart aching with their raw, simple, honest beauty. I could see our entire journey laid out before me, his words creating the images in my mind.”

Lille was easy to like. She's caring, open and guileless. The latter not to be confused with naïveté. Her preoccupation with sex made me laugh repeatedly.
“Yep, my vagina was definitely on Team McCabe.”

She came up with a thousand and one questions and spoke her mind. The way she looked at the world with empathy and bright colors drew everyone in like moth to a flame.
“I thought maybe that was a good philosophy for life. Experiment with your colours, but don’t experiment too much or you’ll destroy the natural beauty.”

I loved that even when she was afraid, she was also a strong woman that went for what she wanted and wasn’t easily cowed by the likes of Jack.

Each time I read another one of L.H.’s books I can’t imagine I can love a hero more. But I think Jack is now my favorite. He’s incredibly masculine, big and rough around the edges with the softest and most fragile and caring heart ever. I just wanted to hug him and then have my way with him.

Jack and Lille’s relationship was all sorts of wonderful. It wasn't just a deep trust and understanding. It was fun and flirty and had me at a constant simmer, ready to boil over.
“Fun?”
“You’re acquainted the idea, yes?”

He tilted his head to the side. “Are you poking fun at me, Lille, insinuating I don’t know how to have fun?”
“Well,”
I continued bravely, “generally, people who frown as often as you do don’t have a lot of it.”
“Shall I show you how I have it?”

L.H.’s incredible writing made me feel everything these two amazing characters went through. From the painful, heartbreaking moments that brought me to tears, to the incredibly romantic and erotic ones that made me swoon and fan myself, to the epic reunion with Jack’s brother Jay and the magical ending that made me grin like an idiot.

And I haven't even talked about the colorful secondary characters, the incredible and magical shows or the plot filled with suspense and intrigue. But let me tell you, I can't wait for more!

This was one of my most anticipated novels of 2015, and is now one of my favorites. I’m completely convinced that L.H. Cosway can write no wrong when it comes to contemporary romance. Hearts of Fire does not disappoint and I recommend it to any romance lover.

This is a standalone romance from Lille's point of view that tells the story of Jack McCabe, Jay Fields’ long lost, presumed dead brother. It is not necessary to have read Six of Hearts in order to enjoy this second book in the Hearts series.

I also strongly recommend you go over to Alleskelle Fraser’s review with her wonderful images that make the story come alive -> https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

This book is spectacular, daring and breathtaking. Actually it's more. I don't think there are good enough words to describe it. But as you said, it's not a surprise.
