    My November 2020 numbers are a bit unique leaning heavy warm and a little dry. Overall about 3 degrees warmer than normal for the month but 5 degrees warmer on daily highs and about 1 degree warmer on the low side. 3.19" of rain is almost 1" drier than normal of 4.20"

    I recorded quite a pressure swing during the last couple of days. The big drop correlates with 3.5" of rain and the big rise is tied to beautiful blue skies today. 29.62" minimum 30.37" maximum

    2.70" in my gauge so far makes this the wettest day of 2020 for my site. 3.42" in the last 2 days is not the wettest pair of days, that would be 4.57" I measured January 10-11. It was warmer for the January event than it has been this one.

    What's left of Laura will weaken as it approaches us tonight. We will see strong gusty winds and heavy rain but it won't be the same in every place. Lots to sort out and explain in this forecast cycle.

    Today's 1"+ in my raingauge makes this my wettest July since 2016 ... and it looks like we could get significant rain later this week. 2016 was more than 9" and I am at 5" now so I hope we don't top 2016.

    Isolated storms popping up in the warm humid afternoon conditions. Risk of severe weather is small but lightning is always dangerous. Storm activity is expected to be focused west of I57 this afternoon. Chance of more storms increases across the region late tonight and Friday.

    Sort of hope I'm wrong but since some might need time to prep ... I see growing indications we could see some frost locally with a couple of pushes of cold air in the next several days. Encourage all to be prepared for the possibility by Saturday morning.

    My rain gauge falls right in line with the map. Most of SIL drier than normal for April. So far this is the driest April I have measured back to 2012 and the driest start to the year (Jan-Apr) since 2016. Jefferson Perry and Wayne are the exceptions so far.

    A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for southeast MO, much of southern Illinois & western Kentucky until 3am. Expect a line of storms to move through the region later tonight that could produce damaging wind gusts.
