'There were people there who don’t know I’m in a band, they're wondering why people are cheering for me, so you have to win them over,' he says.
'That pushed me to get it right and do a good job, be the character, don’t think about your band, this is not about you, this is about the show.'
His Broadway experience has also had a positive effect on his mood and emotions.

The playful optimism of Kinky Boots was in stark contrast to the moody aesthetic of Panic! At The Disco, and Brendon says the playfulness has rubbed off onto him.
After a career in which he confesses he had to be an 'a*****e' in interviews, the singer says that there's no 'real malice or hatred now.'

Despite his stint on Broadway, Brendon concedes that Panic! At The Disco will always carry the 'emo' label.
However, Brendon's newfound Kinky Boots enthusiasm has bled over to the band's new album.
Titled Pray For The Wicked, the band's upcoming album is their sixth and is scheduled to be released on June 22.
Panic! At The Disco are also set to embark on an Australian tour, which will kick off in Sydney on October 6, at Qudos Bank Arena.
